Description Tutorial on Developing a Linear Fractal for Apophysis Beginners

This tutorial is based on how develop my recent Linear Works (which gained some popularity). This is my first tutorial, don't go easy, I have to know what to adjust/improve.

P.S. Feel free to send me questions and tell me about your pictures, or even add to the tutorial (any useful information will be posted on artist's comments)

Can i just comment that Frequency can be very useful when you have a gradient with 3,4 or more colors but they are so smoothed out that one or two dont show in the fractal...changing the frequency can get stunning results on making colors show up, depending on what style of fractal you are doing, it can also spread the colors totally different with every added click i try it an aweful lot when im deciding on colors and have made some awesome gradients that way

Also rotate can be used to "move" the colors over the flame, which also produces some very different and very nice results, emphazising different parts of the fractal that might not quite be visible or as dominant as you would like

linear is a name of a variation in apophysis*, it's based on the repetition of a particular pattern. this tutorial shows uses 'linear' to repeat 'sinusoidal,' doesn't really get into the technical side though, it's mostly for those who just started apophysis to familiarize themselves with the program.

*apophysis is a program that basically visualize mathematical formulas, fractals, or "fractal art," are the product

hope that answers you question, cheers!

it's not complicated, but it really takes time to understand the software's workings, though

Sure you can...but no need to credit .. im just glad to help .. alot of people dont "play" with the gradient settings as much as they maybe should

Thank you for this nice tutorial, it gave me new ideas when I didn't have that much of inspiration... thank you !

(And yes, I've found the gradient options by accident too. )

You're most welcome and thanks for the fav

Isn't it great when you just happen to find something out of luck that turns out to be very useful? haha

My Christmas wish !! I was looking at the messages in my Front Page and saw yours about this tutorial. I am surprised I didn't see it earlier. I use your Marble scripts a lot ! Just love them ! But I am also trying to learn how to make some fractal that I could really call my own thank you so much for sharing You are my "official idol" as of now

thanks for the comments, I look forward to you works. Feel free to send me any messages or questions regarding the tutorial. My reply might be slow because I live on the other side of the planet

You are most welcome

Yes have just found out (about messages in the front page) I will accept your offer and most certainly will ask you if I find any problem following the tutorial though it seemed quite clear and easy to understand from what I saw.

Agree with you, we both live on almost the Antipode from eachother It never ceases to amaze me that I have "friends" in such distant places in the world.
