This one took me forever to finish.... My first attempt at depicting the triple goddes - Maiden, Mother & Crone.I know that maiden & the mother look pretty close age-wise, but I figured that this is the transition that am/will be making soon. Well in the next couple of year anyhoo! My Fav bits are the sky & the cauldron.

they may look close in age, but the Mother aspect does look older.. the distended belly kind of says, "Yes, I am the Mother."

HIya Lily. FIrst of all thank you so much from your nice comments they saved my day (had a really bad day). I've always liked the idea of the tripple goddess. Sometimes i really feel the presence. now that spring is coming, birds singing and all snow melting, it's a change too. Great that you've painted an older person. I should do that too. Wrinkles tell about wisdom. This is a really beautiful and touching piece.

I've always felt an affinity with the triple goddess also.
Every aspect & phase of our lives is special & should be celebrated.
I'd love to come back to this theme one day & either re-do it in watercolours or completely re-work it into something new. But, that will be some time away yet. Too many other things on my plate at the moment!

Wow I absolutely Love this!! The only thing I would change, Well not change but add would be a Necklace for the mother that resembles the crystal in the coans staff. But thats just me. It really is Very nicely Done.

You're right - that'd make a very nice addition! I've still got the line art for this one, so you never know.... I may revisit it sometime in the future & give it a bit of a revamp!

Really nice work. I think the maiden looks about 16 and the mother about 29, so it's not a bad age gap. Great work, keep it up.
