Description First canine pattern! Introducing the new timber wolf cub. (The mother soon to come) This one half of an art trade with the wolf mother is the next half. He is about as big as my fawn, but with a skinnier body and altered head. Despite the spiral of crochet stitches it was straight enough to allow for a color change. It isn't as symmetrical as I would have liked, but that's crochet for you.

He is poseable as usual, expect since he has a fluffy long tail, I made that poseable too. The ears were the hardest thing. This little guy is so small and my thin triangle ears didn't look very good on him. So I had to make up something up. They are bushed on the back to be fluffy but not on the front to look crisper. I need some more practice with all over brushing. Its fine but it ends up all one length. The tail I made longer, but for things like the face certain areas need more fluff.

Eventually I will make some more of these, but I'm pretty much going to be busy for the rest of the month. I have a few canines in line, I wish I could keep them all long enough to take a picture together, but probably not. I'm always taking requests, but you might have to wait a little while. Just send me a note.

Thank you so much! Aww, an alpaca would be cute! Have you tried looking on Ravelry.com? They have a lot of free patterns on the website. I've seen a few llama/alpaca ones that aren't too difficult.

really outstanding work, you have some of the best crochet talent i've seen when it comes to amis do you ever plan on selling your patterns? or are you one of those magicians that don't even write it down

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Pickleweasel360 In reply to heavyteeth [2012-07-14 20:21:44 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much! I do write them down, I am blown away by the people who don't. Why not write it down in case something happens to the one you have. I'm going to try to make a lot more variety of patterns before I sell them. I've gotten good advice recently about putting my patterns out there so I have to work a few more things out also. Plus every piece is different, so I will have to fix the pattern so that there are no variations. I will tell it in my journal when I finally start selling them.

Ohohohohohoho I'm more than halfway done writing it, methinks! Just a few more refills on coffee away
Well okay so I have to make random hand so I can take some informative pictures to include in the pattern But it shouldn't take too long!
I'm including the pattern for all three sizes, since Sherlock, John and Tiny Ten's hands are all slightly different
Don't tell me what you have planned! I LOVE SURPRISES

Oh my gosh! Three different hand sizes!?!?! How much more epic can you get! If I had a hat I would tip it to you, you are amazing! I can't wait to try it! Oooo, lips sealed, I wont reveal what I have planned for them but it will be adorable!
in excitement!

Oh I found another random SPN icon I had never seen before. Whose in the box? Mishas in the box!

I'm addicted to it
Oh yah The sizes only vary slightly, in fact I'm not sure if Tiny Ten's and John's hands are really all that different at all, I guess I'll find out in a minute, eh?
Will you be my pattern beta for the hands? All that means is checking that all the stitch counts are correct and that the directions are easy enough to follow etc, etc I'm thinking I may be putting the hands pattern in my book, so I'm not sure if it will be up in my online shop or not, but this will ensure you get it asap

CREEPER MISHA! Creeeeeepppyyyyy

Oh my gosh!!!!!! I would be so honored to be a pattern beta! I've done that once before actually with a komodo dragon! OOOOOOOO that would be amazing for the book! Truly one of a kind, especially with the different sizes. I am so excited! I will take pictures as well as notes so I can show you any part I may have trouble with.

Creepy Misha is creepy :3

I'm addicted to Iced Mint Mochas at the moment... unfortunately the place I prefer to get them from (they call them 'Bullfrogs', it's just far too much fun to walk up and order a large iced bullfrog xD) is 45 minutes away so I don't get to enjoy them that often Love our Milwaukee Alterra coffee roasters

Yep mum and I were brainstorming how I'd split the book into sections and she said well if the dolls are so popular maybe you could do a people/body parts section and detail how you do bits and pieces of the dolls, with tips and tricks etc, and I was like hmm yes yesss...

Great!! Could you drop me a note with an email address I can send the finished PDF to when it's completed? Asfjdslkjlfjsdjfdksj pictures and notes would be fantastic

An Iced Bullfrog sounds so fun to say :3 We don't have anything cool to call the drinks here. Except a French Vanilla Moo-latte. Which Iced Bullfrog blows out of the water in sounding cool haha.

That is an excellent idea! Escecially since such care and patience is needed to go through each step. I've seen a few books that just say, 'add 4 increases' at the end of the rows, that would be terribly confusing to beginners. People could easily mess up large patterns without a little help. Tips and tricks would be awesome. You could even put little boxes randomly throughout the box with 'did you know' facts about crochet or yourself. I've always enjoyed reading things like that.

I'm noting you right now I will also upload pictures through my email, since I can attach multiple photos at once.

It's definitely more interesting and easy to remember :3

I've always liked reading those too! Especially the 'did you know' or 'helpful hints' sidenotes... I read those and go oooohhh, that's cleverr.... Gosh, so many things I want to put in this book... at this rate it's going to be heavier than I am

Excellent

Me too! Especially when they are little bits of information on things I'm interested in. Haha, it just might be but it will be worth so much more then those thin stapled booklets I see in Barnes and Noble. Oh, wait, are you going to do hardback or paper back? Are you going to sell copies online?
