A battle yet not a real battle, if you know what I mean
Enter youngster Calvin, the first little prick you're going to fight in-game after your rival, but even a Magikarp lvl. 1 should be able to defeat him. Or your cartridge really hates you ._.
But since I enjoy giving unimportant NPCs character and torturing myself by drawing even more endless dialogues, have another filler (yet not filler) and Landon bullying a poor dog. And now that I'm comfortable drawing Poochyenas, I will never have to draw them again (or will I?) However, it might not be visible, but this pages has some mediocre plot, so have fun searching through the dialogues and the images

nice protective ness going on here with landon, and nice points about under age wanna be trainers and showing it from their perspective too how they feel condescended on. you lie boy you lie, saying you won't see him again for a cliffhanger again is like saying I"LL BE BACK just you wait

and yeah i wanted to make different approaches of different versions of stuff, you are going to see other things like this in future

Seems you got a pretty slow pace, but it's quite enjoyable actually~ I like your pieces of worldbuilding (and plot?)

i know, even i have difficulties trying to make him serious :,D
i know, i'm way too slow, i promise within the next couple updates we'll make it to petalburg, and then another 5-6 to get out of it D:
that shall be explained in a not too far away future~ (don't worry. i'm reading so many nuzlockes that i have that problem all the time, and sometimes they don't say the protagonist's name for a whole update and i have to look back at other updates to remember the name. strange enough, though, it's easy for me to remember the names of the pokemon ._.)

Hummmm... Im not totally fan of this new update, to be honest.
A Pokemon trainer is a Pokemon trainer. Its interesting to mention " Pokemon cards " but in the same time, every Pokemon owner is a Pokemon trainer in my eyes. I feel it was poorly exploited, that partΓ©
However, yes, you should have the right to accept or refuse a challenge. The thing about "eye contact" and obligation to battle in the game are not fun. Trying to devellop that point is very interesting And Im glad you did.
In resume, it could have being better but I still enjoy your comic. Don'tt give up, keep at it!

lol i had to read your comments twice before i understood what you meant with "pokemon cards", but i get your point. in my comic, actually, the rules that are applied in the pokemon games and such are a bit different. if you really wanna know, there are actually "ranks" of trainers in here, and trainer cards are a much bigger deal than it is usually. (hinthint, take a look at the youngster's pokeball, do you see a difference? now wonder why)
the eye contact thing is also an important part, but again i made a different approach if it. i'm gonna explain some of these things in the next update though, then maybe it will be clearer :3
