HERE IT IS!! VOLTRON.not a bad vector if i say so myself. took about a week to make in illustrator. Enjoy and leave those comments!
Sorry i didn't mention this before, but the original artwork i traced this from is done completely by Mark Brooks You all know him as Diablo2003 on DA, he's a great artist and a real professional in the comic book industry. You should check him out if you get the chance. I didn't realize it was one of his works when i had gotten it. Most of my work i have permission to use, however thinking this was a vector piece and not really a drawing more of pratice with my illustrator work, i guess i didn't worry too much about it.

I like your Voltron pic. I like how you got it to pose. I haven't seen Voltron in ages! I still have the blue lion action figure from the 1980's and I have a Pidge, Hunk and Allura action figures from the 1990's.

oh wow blast from the past just like me lol. yeah voltron was my favorite cartoon when i was young..but if you read in the info part underneath it says Mark Brooks who breathed life back into a comic book version of voltron. i didn't know he drew it i thought it was fan art but when i went to use it as a trace piece in a vector program i didn't know a pro made it haha, he's actually a member here and bitched slapped me when he found out, so now i give him props. I didn't just use filters on it though i actually retraced every line in illustrator so i feel i did a bit of work on it lol

Oh okay. I read the description and I've never heard of Diablo2003/Mark Brooks. I'll have to check out his gallery sometime. Everyone makes mistakes.

lol oh no no no, i appreciate the comment, i just don't want anyone ever mistaking his original pose as my own. He was pretty pissed when he found out i used his piece as reference lol. Thanks for the comment though, i really appreciate it when people take time out to write something about what they thought of my work. i really appreciate it. I see you are a kingdom hearts fan, that's cool, the game looked interesting although i never have played it. You have a cool gallery!

Glad ya like my comment. Yes, I'm a Kingdom Hearts fan. I just got a Playstation 2 and the game, Kingdom Hearts. You should try it out sometime. It's a really awesome game!

lol, well it was a vector version of a piece Mark Brooks did in the revived comic book version. He's pretty kick arse! thanks though, i was a huge fan of Voltron when i was a kid, something about it just seems...cool.

It's really nice and I dig it a lot but were you planning on giving me credit for the linework and cell shade patterns? You followed my colors almost exactly and the linework is all me. I'm flattered you liked my work enough to do a vector of it but always make sure to give credit to the original artist. It's the honorable thing to do.

OH WOW! holy shit man i totally didn't know, i actually found it on the net somewhere and there was no name attached to it, i didn't mean to broadcast that it was all me... i mean the vector work was but the original concept wasn't Sorry about that bro, i'm totally updating the description section, you get all the props you want man, i love your work! well there aren't a lot of books that i know of that are real helpfull...if you can learn to use the pen tool properly with a mouse, you're in business. everything else is just hands on training i feel.

THANKS! Yes i have seen your gallery, you have some killer stuff in there. I usually color with photoshop because coloring in illustrator can be quite difficult unless your going for a really stylized version of whatever it is your creating.
the only person i've seen that has masterd coloring in illustrator is this girl i went to art school with...her website has examples of her great work it's

yeah i know, i mean i understand what she did to make her images, but i can't see how she got soo much detail without creating outragiously huge files....last time i tried something with a gradient mesh it ended up bein around 60 megs and it was no where near as detailed. it's really hard to compress something larger than that down into a jpeg format for the web a reasonable size for upload.

more then welcomed, i did notice something after i posted before and i wasnt going to bother with it, but a bit of crit can never hurt right?
anyway the blue lions mouth/right foot looks alittle short.... thats my only gripe about it.

well i think your right, i was trying to give it that depth and action pose, like bringing the knee section forward a bit to show he's about to strike. Oh well, i get better with each new piece i guess...learn from my mistakes.

Aside from the evident AWESOMENESS of this picture, I personally would have liked to have seen some more variation in line weights, myself.
But, that's just personal taste. It's still really good work.

well to tell you the truth, this is actually one of my first all vector pieces. I am a photoshopper myself and am trying to gain a better understanding of illustrator. I can use it to do what i need but when it comes to complex vectors like this, i feel more comfortable with the simple round pen tool and i don't really know how to get different line weights as you would see in a comic book or other illustration piece.
