Description
A while back, we offered a pretty cool set called the Origins Pack that contained special auras and capes for each character class. Here's what I gave the character artist assigned to the task for inspiration. In the end, 3 of the 5 came out almost exactly as you see here, and the other 2 are a bit better actually.Related content

Probably the five most versatile costume pieces in the game. I'm most drawn to the Eighth Circle and Autumnal capes myself, with Eighth Circle being almost my go-to cape. Also managed to make the mutant cape into a seaweed cloak for for my fish lady... I definitely use all five pretty frequently.
I agree with Granytt, really GOOD squicky pieces are kind of lacking in general. Makes it hard to pull off a convincing alien space horror. I mean, we have the stuff from the Mutant pack (Bioluminate and Organic Armor) and two or three pretty low-res sets that are probably i8 or so for the sort of horrific, slimy look. (Bio-Organic, Insectoid, and Chitin, I think; not sure when they were introduced.)
...Do you still keep track of the All Things Art threads you started? I always get lost in them after about the third page. ._.

I check in whenever I see it rise to the top of the forum list. Would really like to do a proper 'squicky' set. It's been a while, so maybe the time's about right.

the mutation cape is nasty. I love it.
A full body costume set to match that would be awesome.
I want more wet/organic costume options in general. the slime and boils aura just don't have enough to go well with.

I hear ya. It'd be great to do something gross, for sure. The trick is in getting everyone to agree that it's something the players want over other possibilities. Our perception is that most players want parts to make them look more heroic or badass, but I agree that it's a gap in the costume options.

I see so many demons, and monsters prowling the streets of Paragon I am sure there would be interest. And I know there was a lot of buzz after the unveiling of the Rulu-shin, so I think there is some appetite, just perhaps more muted than the norm.
Other than the recent auras, and the cape that came in the mutation pack (I forget the name, but it looks awesome with the corroded flesh look) there has not been much in this area since early days. The plant and bio-organic are pretty much it. Even the Organic Armor comes off cleaner. But some well designed pieces could be organic/gross to apply for a wide range of concepts - but fit with Organic Armor, biolum, bio-organic, insectoid,... all sort of things.
Maybe float some early concept art to gauge interest for investing resources in a future release? (Actually, maybe note a bad idea for a lot of the ideas you must have. Generate some buzz and gain valuable, and saleable, player input.
Anyway, thanks for listening.

Well, it'd be a fun project to work on, and we're looking to do more player-driven costumes in the future. Maybe you could suggest this one.

The magic and science have always been my faves.

I see the Science cape on live all the time. The other ones seem a little more rare. Hard to predict what you guys are going to do with the stuff we put out there.

I've probably used Impervium more than any of the others - with Magic close on its heels.

Seems like that's the general concensus.

Impervium mantle and cloak of the fifth circle are my two favorites.

I'm pretty sure I've ended up using all of them at one point or another.

Which one was your favorite, out of curiosity?

Hmm...
I got the most use, personally, out of the Impervium Mantle one. It's subtle, and it fits well characters that could use an armored cape of sorts.
The most visually pleasing is, I find the magical cloak, though I haven't had opportunity to use it. It would work great as a waist cape, though.
The one I've seen the most inventive uses is the Autumnal Cloak. Works great for rangers and ghillie suits.
The Unified Field Façade is neat, but I don't think it's enough. It needs something extra, some pizzaz to sell the fact it's actually an energy field and not just painted cloth. Some... luminescence, or a flowing glow, something like that.
The mutant cloak, well, I haven't personally found a character I could use it on, but then I very rarely use capes.
