Description
The Rocketboard is a cool new travel power that players can purchase in CITY OF HEROES. Originally, we were calling it the "hoverboard" internally, but since it can fly in essentially any direction, "rocketboard" seemed more apt.I designed it with a sort of surfboard/hotrod flair on the top, and a combination of repulsion pads and mini-jet engines on the bottom. Fun!

My only gripe is that it's not recolorable, but it's still lots of fun. And as well as giving that 80's back to the future vibe, it saves slots on travel powers

Yeah, lurve the 'board. I guess I beat K-Defender to it, as I already have a character where Rocketboard is his only travel power. Would I love to be able to color it? You betcha, but I can live with it as-is.
Now if only the power had a decent icon instead of the vanilla flight icon. Something like this, only better: [link] .

for me, this became possibly one of the coolest additions to city of heroes. I've even used it to escape some enemy spawns (namely the fast spawning ones in the new atlas and mercy) and I always think in my head as I leave those guys to eat my dust: "I have a rocket board, your arguements are invalid!"
Also, I think next we need a rocket Segway.

Yeah it is really fun. For me it is better than Ninja Run or Beast Run semi travel powers. Actually I still have that idea of making a character with Rocketboard for his only travel power.
Animation of activating Rocketboard while running is so cool.
As mentioned above, being able to color it or better having new skins for it would be nice.

It's a nice idea but I cant help but have a few problems with it.
1. It's to thick and isn't very aerodynamic.
2. The horizontal rockets seen to far foreword. They should be farther back centered under the rider.
3. We really need to be able to color it as we want. It clashes honorably with most of my toons. (I really want to be able to make it black with blue stripes. And to be able to color the exhaust/thruster glow how I want.)

Third point's good. First and second: Looks to me like the actual lift is created by those luminous ports, so the positioning of the rockets would be less like working with an aircraft and more like working with a car. Further forward is more stable but less maneuverable. Further back is more maneuverable but extremely touchy at high speeds (I always used to hate RWD vehicles in Gran Turismo 2).
