Description
Gravix, suited up in the mechus combat titan(CT) Mechus is equipped with an arsenal of weapons: Dual multi round zamor sphere launchers, two shoulder mounted missile launchers, and when artillery doesn't get the job done he has a laser edge battle sword. Gravix is an experienced pilot and soldier. His ability to drive a CT suit surpasses any of his fellow toa. His skill projectile weapons contributes to this. Mechus is a a custom CT suit made specifically for Gravix's physiology and abilities. Mechus is no lumbering giant. While he isn't as agile and maneuverable as say Mototaur and Ryakk he can definitely move with speed. Mechus has three energy cores that power the suit. Two built into the calves and one smaller one on the back. The ammo for any CT suit when on the battle fieldSeveral things went into inspiring the look feel, and function of this MOC. I was thinking Power loader from aliens seen here [link] for the interface of the two characters, as well as the front cage design, as well as the matrix's APU seen here [link] for some of the look of the Mech over all, all that with a little japanese style mech thrown in with the look of armor and accents. I had Built gravix gravix and thought he would make a good mech pilot. HEHEHE I was right.
Edit Here Mechus is using the lazer edge sword and one gun. The guns used to holster on his side but I must have redone something with out realizing it and now they don't fit.

Oh, well we've all gotta start somewhere. I didn't own a computer when I first started MOCing so there's no evidence of my earliest work. I started out just modding sets and making them bigger or cooler looking. I eventually worked my way up to building things like this after a few years. MOCing is like any other kind of art form, if you want to be good at it you have to practice and develop your skills with it. But you can do it and you can get there if you want to.

I got most of what I have as a kid/teenager. Basically, all I'd spend my allowance on were legos, and all I'd ask for for Christmas and birthdays were legos. Lego's and clothes were about all I'd ever get. Family knew that legos were a safe gift to get me. As for time...As a kid/teenager, I game home to an empty house, parents worked. I always managed to do my homework at school. So I'd come home and not have much to do. Now. I've just got a lot of time on my hands.
Lots of things are possible. You should check out what the "technic guys" come up with.
This is a mech, its got a guy inside it, so it has no head. I purposefully didn't give it a head.

Well, they're not terrible. They show some potential, and you present some consistency in the toa team. That's good. I say work on more customization techniques, and get a white backdrop for your dark characters. Can't see 'em. But you also did well to present a nicer looking photo, so good job there to.

I have no white backdrop. I have a light blue one though.

Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to Unleashed-Fear [2012-07-06 02:11:11 +0000 UTC]
Light Blue would be great. Its not white so if there is any white on a dark colored MOC it doesn't blend in. I suggest you use that for you MOCs that are primarily black, or dark colors.

Nice work.
I just have to say this: It would be totally immensely awesome if you could make a base out of bionicle parts and other such mobile parts, but then add more conventional LEGO plates and such pieces as armor. All those kind of bits that are somewhat edged and are mostly without the duds you use for putting pieces together.
It'd be awesome to see some sort of more traditional mecha done that way.
But I gues it's near impossible to attach the more conventional LEGO onto bionicle parts without first adding some support structure wich brings up the mass of the construction, making it bulky. But that might be OK on a traditional mecha.

They're from one of the first wave Exo force sets. Gate attack or something. The exo force stuff had a lot of good bionicle recolors.

HOLY MOTHER OF FUCK !!!
That's some serious shit you got there ... O_O'
Only one question : ...
No wait ...
Two : 1- How many pieces did you use ?
2- How many time did you spend on it ?
That's exactly what I'd like to make with all my bionicles !
Unfortunately, the colors don't match >_<

Thank you. HAHA I get that sometimes with my big guys. Oh and yes there's more. If this is the only one you've seen please browse my gallery.
And my answer to both questions is I don't know. I don't count the parts and I don't just work on my MOCs once and they're done. They're kinda always works in progress.
Hmmmm well Try your best to coordinate the colors I suppose.

Thank you. this to me is what pulls that "japanese mech" element into this MOC, or its what finalizes it for me. That and the stylizing of some of the armor. It was a major bitch finding a design that looked right. I messed around with actual bionicle weapons like strung one after another length wise to make a long sword for him, but it all didn't fit so then I tried something simpler with this. What he has is sorta the second verson. The first one looked like hockey stick that he held up side down.

Levia-the-Dragon In reply to Plague-Doc-Matteo [2010-05-22 05:57:33 +0000 UTC]
Huh, hocky-stick... that's new.
And the actual energy edge on the solid blade is somewhat less common so it comes across ar more original anyway.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to Levia-the-Dragon [2010-05-22 18:38:19 +0000 UTC]
Yeah it was a variation to the sword he had now but it was angled back at the top. It did look like a freakin hockey stick so I had to do something about it.
Yeah? That's cool. I just wish I could make the solid part look I dunno sharper, like that if it didn't have the energy edge it'd still be a good sharp weapon. This works though. And thanks for thinking its more original. To be honest when I did it I didn't think of any other kind of weapon, I just built a sword so I guess it is sorta original.
