Description Hanging in the void, a planet on the outer edges of its solar system is moments away from freedom.  Its star has just gone supernova.  With the umbilical cord cut, it will drift for eons as a lone wanderer.  I wonder where it will end up?

This is really nice, did you make it in GIMP?

Thank you!  And yes, almost 100% of my work is done in GIMP.  I've installed the G'MIC plugin for added effects and layer filters, and for gas giants I use the liquify filter from paint.NET (since the one in GIMP is pretty poor).  But really, GIMP can do amazing things, with a little patience

It would become a rogue planet for billions of years, orbiting the galactic center directly instead until it finds another parent star.

Some are speculating that this might be the story behind Planet X.  If we ever find it, I hope we can send a probe out to confirm its origins!
