Description
Something a little different from me today. I needed a chain for my new thumb drive and this is what came out. Pretty pleased with it, though I had to make my own jump rings after running out in the middle. Can anyone spot Pluto & Charon?Related content

Thank you! I wear this pretty much every day -- it's definitely the most useful piece of jewelry I've ever created

I don't blame you, I would totally wear it everyday if I had one

I adore how creative this is - and all because you needed something to make keeping up with your thumb drive easy! Beautiful work, truly.

I think Pluto and Charon are among the smaller dark beads at the other end of the chain? And, not to nitpick...
1) if you included Pluto and Charon, how come you didn't add the other planetoids in the Kuiper belt?
2) Since you included Charon, the Earth's moon, and what I'm interpreting as Phobos and Deimos (the stones on either side of "Mars")... then how come you didn't include any of Jupiter or Saturn's moons? Or Neptune's Triton? Or the small asteroid, named 2016 HO3, that is being called "Earth's 'mini-moon'?” (Okay, THAT one I'll give you--it's probably too small on the scale you're using... )
3) What stone did you use for what I'm interpreting as the asteroid belt -- the small row of stone chips between Mars are Phobos and Deimos on the one side, and Jupiter on the other? Just curious...
PS--I edited this, to point out that I thought this was beautiful work. I didn't want you to think I was just nitpicking.

Hey, thank you for the comment! Love to see other people geek out on this stuff xD
To answer your questions:
1) The chain of beads at the end of the loop between Neptune and the spiral represents the Kuiper belt as a whole (no way to fit hundreds of thousands of solar bodies on a single necklace, though that would be an awesome challenge!). The necklace already hangs almost to my belly xD
2) You got it! Luna, Deimos and Phobos are all represented (because they were easy and I thought it was a nice touch). I seriously considered adding moons for all the gas giants (or at least some of the famous ones), but there are just way too many and I balked at the numbers: Jupiter (15), Saturn (62), Uranus (27) and Neptune (14).
3) What I had on hand at the moment, which was Amethyst Beadlinx chain. I wanted to show the asteroid belt, and I'm glad someone picked up on it.
And Pluto/Charon are actually hiding in the loop at the beginning of the necklace, near the pendant. I know they're not positioned past the Kuiper belt, but they are also technically not classified as planets anymore (Why, IAU? WHY???), so I figured I'd add them as an "Easter Egg" somewhere rather than leaving them off altogether.
Also, the spiral *could* represent the mythical planet X if they ever find it (I'm betting they will, and soon, but in no way do I ascribe to the theory that it's going to crash into Earth or be the launching point for an alien invasion ).
And thank you for the compliment as well

Yup, all the planets are present, plus a few moons, the asteroid belt, and Pluto/Charon. I added chain to represent the relative distances between all the planets, and I think I did a pretty good job there as well.
