Description
To save Blaze! So Solar has arrived and he can indeed pick her up safely. So with that, they're off to the top of Mountain to get Blaze patched up. So at this point I'd say it's safe to talk about this topic. This has been a topic I have been particularly curious about for a while and would like to know what others have to say on it. That topic being, character death. I have always thought that the death of a character should be a big event, it should have an impact on the story, the other characters, etc. I don't like bringing characters back to life in my stories since I feel that robs the significance of the event, so if they die, they generally stay dead in my works. So when I plan to kill off a character, I like to consider these three questions1) What stories can be told by keeping them alive? What can they do, what impact can they have on future events, can a future story be told about them, how does them being around effect other characters, etc?
2) What stories can be told by killing them off? How does their absence effect future events, what impact does their death have on other characters, can any story be told as a result of their death, etc?
3) Considering the answers for 1 and 2, which results in a better or more interesting story? If keeping them alive makes for a better story, keep em alive, if killing them off results in a better story, kill em off.
So what's my decision for Blaze then? Well for her it comes down to the effect it has on two stories, Solarshadow and Shining Consequence and in this case, I think that it make for a more interesting story with her being kept alive. So Solar is indeed saving her life here!
Since this is a merger page, there will be two of these to follow.

I wouldn't be too surprised if a character where to die soon

Could happen, I'm not against killing off characters but feel like it should be a big event when it does happen.

I feel just about the same way you do about killing off characters. I have to go through all the possibles of the why and why not.
I expected Blaze to be kept alive as we don't know much about her...and also leaving her three sons motherless (and not knowing anything about the father...yet?) would likely spell their doom. Instead of making them stronger and push on, it would emotionally break them and then worst things could happen. What those things are, is unknown to me.
If the three sons were older and grown up more...then I could consider the idea of making their mother die to protect them in some fashion. Well enough of my rambling. I gotta stop doing that.
On a side note...I just realized that we have 8 eevee/eeveelution between the two comics.
Solar -Espeon
Shadow -Umbreon
Nymphia -Sylveon
Blaze -Flareon
Aqualus -Vaporeon
Harvest, Tyler, and Ian all being eevees...
The remaining eeveelutions are Jolteon, Leafeon, and Glaceon. Coincidence? ...likely.
Only the comic creator knows what the plan is. We are just here for the ride.
Personally I would think that Tyler could be a Glaceon. It would help to hide his shininess because of the color scheme being almost the same as regular.

Yeah I feel like character death should hold some significance. I think it should be both rare and irreversible, which gets into two trends I am not particularly fond of in stories (especially franchises). The first is bringing previously killed characters back to life and the other is the concept of Shock death. I feel like if a character is killed off, that should be a big event. It should matter to the audience, to the characters, the story, etc. To me, bringing them back to life robs that impact for future events. Like, "They'll be back later, doesn't matter." So if a character dies, they usually stay dead in my stories. Sometimes they'll come back as a ghost or in a dream or something, but that's it. I think you can bring a character back but I would do that very sparingly.
The other thing I avoid is Shock Death. Shock death is basically the concept of killing off a character (usually a supporting character) to try to get a shock out of the viewer/reader. It's usually used to try to create an atmosphere of "who will die next?" but to me, it basically says we're going to throw characters in the garbage needlessly and there's no reason to get invested in any of them because they're all expendable.
Yeah guess that's true. Harvest says he wants to be a Leafeon, so you got that one. Time will tell on that.

Did Ian say something about wanting to evolve during some future event? I thought it was solar eclipse, but not really sure.

Aura had a prediction of an event she calls "Day of Shadows" that is supposed to happen in a little over a week from now and Ian asked what she thought would happen if he tried to evolve on that day. She had a conversation with her dad about it and ended up regretting telling Ian about it. Now she thinks the event itself isn't a disaster but that something bad will happen during it and since Ian is thinking of doing something during it, she thinks it'll happen to him if she doesn't do something about it.

Well yeah but you can always throw around ideas on what the event is, what will happen during it, all that sort of stuff, especially as time goes along and more is revealed about it C=
