Here is a page I am curious to see what people think of. So I'll talk about it a little. One of the main themes of this series is tackling literary tropes and Nightmare here is not an exception to that. I will go into greater detail about this later in a journal (the first set of those should come out probably in January) but I'll give a little summary of it here. I feel a villain, evil or otherwise, should be written the same way you'd write your hero. They should have interests, desires, values, beliefs, etc. They shouldn't be doing what they're doing because they're evil and that's what evil guys do. So we get some of that here, Nightmare values power and control and though he didn't like how Dragonite used his, he still respected him for possessing it. Nightmare is evil but he's not doing what he's doing because he thinks it's evil. He's doing it because it falls into what he believes is what he should/needs to do.Otherwise I'll cover a couple other things real quick, the Sableye's name is Melog and he is also a member of Nightmare's group. Exactly what his role is or what he wants has yet to be stated. So for now, I'll just let you guys ponder that. The second, Dragonite is dead as well. Tried to make the cave they're in look different than the guardian's lair, hope that was successful.

Sableye does kind of look like them, probably the head mostly.

I think it also has something to do with the way you gave both of them very wide toothy mouths.

Well I say the head in general, the 7th Panel probably explains it the best. The head is large with a football sort of shape, large mouth, big eyes, and it has horn things in the same place Stitch's ears are. Not exactly a perfect match (no nose for instance) but they have some stuff in common. Body is pretty different I think.

Good to know he has motives too. I am not to good with analyising the evil side, and even seing this he is still a very sick bag of tonails to me, but I will keep and eye on this thinking about Nightmare in the future.
Also, I just love how Sableeye, also known as one of the banes of my existence in my short time in the german version of Pokemon Showdown (thought it was the mega), looks in your style. Especially the third- last panel looks really good. His look remind me of Venom from Spiderman 3, one of the villains that leaved the most impression on me. Also, the picture matches the sentences very well in this scene. It's also interesting to see that all of his henchmen seem to be light manipulable Pokemon. I assume he must be quite sure about holding them by their desires gives his plans great safety. It's an interesting thought to me that this could also be his downfall. Can you see what I mean?

Yeah he does, but he is still an evil character with an evil goal. He's just not defined by that. He's still doing bad things, he's just not doing it because that's what bad guys do, he's doing it because he thinks it needs to be done. The idea isn't to make him sympathetic, he's not, but to give more depth to the character. In my opinion, nobody is really evil unless they're insane. Nightmare plans things out to well to brush off the idea of why he's evil with he's insane. To me though, nobody gets out of bed and thinks, "I am evil, therefore I do evil things because that's what evil people like me do." People do evil things because they benefit them, they don't believe what they're doing is evil, they think it's a necessary evil, they feel it's justified in some sort of way, it will get them what they want, etc. This is basically playing into that. He wants Power and Control and he values both of those things. So his actions are based on controlling others, getting others to do what he wants, etc. That will be explored along the way.
Melog's design was based on several things, Sableye of course, Gollum, Venom, etc. So far all his henchmen have a type advantage against him and the reason for that gets back around to the power and control thing. As far as he's concerned, that doesn't matter, what matters is being able to get them to do what he wants them to. So far that has worked.

I see you and agree with much you said. It's such a big problem that people in society judge others for little things. But I think I would at least discuss an hour with you before I can say I wanted to say about this. I guess I like you view and the way you think (sound weird I know).
