I really wish they'd bring the cape back.Also, It's kinda upsetting about Toad not being in SMW. That's one of the only mainstream games he's missed to my knowledge...
I Saw a romhack of SMW where Toad was the main character but it was pretty bad... You know them rom hackers. They like to make everything hard as balls, and unenjoyable save-state-abuse-fests.
I wish someone would just do a simple character hack like the guys who did all the _______ in Sonic 1 hacks.

rom hackers are shit personified
they just make hard levels to over compensate the fact that they can't live up to the stature of homebrewers, indie devs and even fan game devs

The cape was a scrapped feature of Super Mario 3D Land. I heard that Wario's Woods happened during Super Mario World, but bringing puzzle games into the timeline isn't going to help anyone.
I've seen a few character hacks of SMW, and I played a really good hack of it last night called Super Luigi Bros (which is not a character hack)

The only character hacks I have ever seen are for Super Mario Bros, and it's usually just something stupid like bald Mario, or some other silly thing. Nobody really bothers to hack a character into the game without building a completely new set of levels around it.
And whats wrong with putting a puzzle game into the mix? It has a story and everything.

SMBX has Toad tho as a playable character, even going so far as to let him access SMB3-powerups. He's pretty good with them, especially Raccoon and Hammer Suit (which lets him throw a boomerang!)
