I've seen this pic before and I've always liked it. I hope you'll make more Magneto/Rogue when you have the time <3

Read X-Men legacy 248-49 to see R/M cannon-ness! Or ask me to relay some dialog! I don't do spoilers unless I'm directly asked! I think you asked with "(feel free to spoil me)" but I hate spoilers so much I won't do so unless you say "Tell me everything now!" ^.^

Thanks for the info, I'll look up those issues! I'm usually a spoilerophobe but it doesn't really apply here since I haven't been following the X-Men regularly over the last few years - I love them but I really couldn't get invested in the storylines. Perhaps it's the right moment to pick up the book again...

Nice piece! They need more fanart!
And to anyone who says it's not possible, they should be reading the recent run of X-Men Legacy. It may not turn out for the better, but there's certainly something going on.

in the comic is impossible but it looks great! ^ ^

But it WAS possible! I mean, this is fanart for an actual X-Men issue from 1990 or something, they were in the Savage Land together and had a moment like this :hearts:
Okay, I'm starting to sound like Sheldon Cooper xD Glad you liked it, that's I wanted to say!

I adore this. That was a pairing I always wish they had done something with, not just because they were each members of two different Brotherhoods at different points, either. They had great chemistry.
I love his flowing cape and her equally flowing hair.

A beautiful picture, full of style and substinance.
My only constructive critique would be that the size of Rogue's legs does not match the shape of her thighs and buttocks - they are too thin. But still a great piece!

Yeah, I know - I'm actually pondering about taking this (and other stuff) off the account since it's so old and I can't bear looking at it without seein a bazillion mistakes in it OTOH, I have some affection for this piece, so I never resolve to give it the axe
Thanks for stopping by!

Oh, no, you shouldn't! You should always hold a special affection for your past work and appreciate how far you have come. Be proud that you can do something better than this - I honestly think it is a beautiful piece.

well, as far as I know, actually it was Age of Apocalypse, a crossover I loved, as a matter of fact! XD But it's AU - and I want this ship to happen in 616 canon!

Dragonzair [2007-07-13 16:31:55 +0000 UTC]
Such a lovely couple <3 I'm glad AoA introduced me to this pairing XD
But didn't you know it actually became canon as well?
It was soo utterly wonderful! D:
Gad, I can't seem to remember the arc. It was when Rogue was in the jungle...ah, Lord. *goes to wiki* I think it was the Muir Island saga...D: I'm sorry, can't really remember. But they were on some sort of island.
Then again, it was short-lived. Rogue couldn't stand seeing him hurt people, and stuff.
Still, then came along Joseph, who was Erik's clone (younger version) from Operation Zero Tolerance. There was one scene that made me squeal so bad D:
Then he died.
Anywho D:
But yeah, this pairing is just so utterly lovely.
And you drew this so perfectly

Pojypojy In reply to Dragonzair [2007-08-21 00:14:03 +0000 UTC]
Wait, wait. That in the jungle was the part I was referring to! But... but... they never really got *together* in my books (might be missing some issues, though). I mean, tons of UST and obvious reciprocal attraction, but they never expressed it openly. Bzuh?
Btw, Rogue/Magneto FTW. I just hope some writer remembers about it -_-;;
π: 0 β©: 1
Dragonzair In reply to Pojypojy [2007-08-21 11:36:05 +0000 UTC]
They were sort of together in that jungle thingy. XD But she left him at the end of the arc D:
But yeah. As of now, Rogue's gone all..er..almighty. Or something. She's a whle lot stronger and not well balanced :s And Erik's...gone missing >.>
While Gambit makes his return XD
*sigh* I doubt there'd be much romance in the X-books right now, though. It's all WWH, plus Endagered Spedies, and the coming arc next year, or something.
All the pairings were...well...destroyed! D: Lo/Ro = gone, because of that stupid Black Panther, Kurt/Rachel, no more because Ray isn't even on the planet anymore.
BAH.

darth-jurious [2006-10-18 21:11:53 +0000 UTC]
Wow, what a beautiful rendition of the pairing! It seems to give one the impression that, though there is love, there is also hardship in this relationship - Magneto's torn cloak could be sort-of an illusion to that. You've got their expressions nailed, and the colours are gorgeous. Excellent stuff!
I confess that I've only recently delved into the "comicverse" of X-Men and I've been drawn to the so-called "Rogneto" 'ship straight away. It's just so intriguing. Shame it's not canon in sense of the regular series, but hey - at least it's there.

IMHO, they never would've worked out. Wouldn't have minded seeing them make a bash of it though. This is an absolutely gorgeous piece of work. Lovely composition, beautifully astounding colouring, and a very emotive atmosphere. I love the splatter you've done for the stars, and the colour combo works really well. Simply wonderful work.
