Description
A smallish acrylic on board painting, done on site one sunny afternoon - I ended up giving it away to some lovely elderly folks - payment seemed wrong at the time...Related content

I realize it may sound corny but it's true! A good dose of the warm fuzzies can feel very valuable sometimes!

This is gorgeous. It caught my eye right away and I HAD to have a closer look. I'm so glad I did. You are very good at what you do, and it was a kind thing of you to give the painting away.

Yeah...i like to give stuff away sometimes. And sometimes there is just this push kind'a feeling that sez to me that this should be a gift.
Very nice and expressive. I like the palette choices, and especially i like those choices in the shadows. Really good piece of work!

acrilic is like hell for me.it is simply too annoying the fact that it dryes in no time

You can buy a retarder which works to some degree, but I find that if I am painting outdoors, it's good to have the paint dry fast so I can get on with it! What needs inventing is paint that responds to vocal commands like - "dry you #*x^"<*" or "stay wet you "%$#&*"...

The way you use colors is... enhancing, to say the least. And you got me intrigued with giving it away, it seems there's an interesting story to be told, or untold...

I was visiting Coochie (a small coastal island) and these folks are residents there. They are not well enough to walk about on the island anymore and so miss most of it's natural beauty. They were neighbours where we were staying. They really liked the painting and wanted to buy it, but I couldn't put a price on it mainly because the giving of it was worth more than money. This may sound corny but that's what I thought!

I like it!
And I bet the elderly couple will give it a good place, and will talk about "that nice painter" for years to come
Doesn't acrylic outside dry within seconds on a sunny day like that by the way??

postapocalypsia In reply to corienb [2008-09-20 09:05:00 +0000 UTC]
Thanks! And yes, they did show me where it was going to hang.
Acrylic does dry fast outdoors, but I have learned to use that to my advantage mostly - oh, and I try to find some shade to set up!
