My OC Icea (A.K.A. Frieza's Mom from DBZ) from a fanfiction that I'll probably never have time to finish (even though I really, really enjoyed working on it).I was originally going to color her plates, purple (like Frieza)...but I didn't have a purple colored pencil in the hue that I envisioned. Therefore, I made use of my favorite colors, indigo blue.
Due to genetic variation (i.e. recessive traits and the like), her coloration doesn't necessarily have to mirror that of her progeny. Yay genetics!
If you're wondering, I got a bit lazy towards the end of the project. She does have a left arm, it's just strategically hidden behind her back. %^_^%
I always envisioned the Ice-jin to have a peasantry that toiled and labored for the elite of their world (i.e. Frieza, Cooler, King Cold, etc...). Icea and her sister Okan (Okan means "chill" in Japanese) were sold into bondage by King Cold's father, Emperor Ice. After the death of her sister (at the hands of her new masters, the Ikisians), and after she destroys the Ikisian system in a fit of guilt induced rage, she's discovered by a Cehylon cargo ship, captured, and sold to King Cold some time later. Cold then manipulates her in various ways--Frieza and Cooler being the result of said manipulation. Once she realizes it, she goes berserk--she's a berserker, and when consumed by rage her power level spikes and she can assume the fifth form that Cooler displayed in "Cooler's Revenge"--and tries to kill King Cold. Frieza rips her heart out of her chest.
Yeah, dark. But that's life, eh?
I created her and the fan-fiction mentioned above after listening to the song "Always" by Saliva

Thanks. I feel bad, sometimes, creating characters with the foreknowledge that their lives will be relatively short and tepid.
I'll have to post some of my own, unique characters (Icea, sadly, doesn't count because she came from an existing series) at some point in the future.

Characters from existing series are just as creative. :3 For me, it takes just about as much "creative juice." It's interesting, seeing how a person's character fits into a made reality.

True...true. Now that I think of it, you're absolutely right: It is much harder to fit a character into an existing reality than it is to create a world after creating the characters destined to populate it.
