Honestly,
This is one of the best art rewards I have ever seen for any patreon. And believe me I have seen a few. Most artists only offer High Res, Layered PSD etc but this is a full on tutorial worthy of buying on its own. Definitely something I can see myself investing my money in.
Very well done!

Does this work for other programs, other than Photoshop?

I have a question. I noticed that the color mode you're setting is 8bit. Why not 16? Or rather, my question should be, which is better to use? The 8bit mode or 16bit mode? Admittedly, the 16bit mode does make the work file a lot heavier and harder for the computer to handle (especially if the computer is not that powerful.......like mine ). But, doesn't it yield better results? That's what I've heard, at lease. Lately I've been using the 16bit color mode and I usually work with a canvas size of either 6000x9000 or 5400x7200 (mostly the latter). And, I at least THINK the colors look better. But, my laptop gets wrecked by the time I get to the shading.

8 bit is enough for web design because human's eye will not see the difference and the file will be 'lighter'.
Nevertheless whatever you want to draw or create I think the first thing you need is not a different program settings but get rid of laptop. Laptops are created for people who are changing places and need fast connection with the world, so it's a replacement of a notebook and pen.
Also the canvas you use is very large. You may have problems if you don't have enough RAM. It depends what you do, but usually for the web you don't need that huge canvas size.

I once worked on a 2d animation studio, we always made the frames twice are large as the destination resolution with a non-smooth brush (like the pencil tool on photoshop) which made it very easy to 'flood fill' the figures for that cel-shaded look. It looked good when reduced to the target resolution.
