Most people don't. But anime people do. They aren't based on reality you see. Their stature is just another way of showing character traits.

I know, I draw manga/anime style, I just prefer more realistic manga/anime (manga is usually the one to have this because it usually is more detailed).
Also anime is based on reality, not sure why you don't think that...

Maybe they're stuck in the over-stylized world on the late 80s early 90s? I haven't seen an over stylized manga/anime in a very long time.

perhaps "not based on" is a poor choice of words. It is based in reality in that it looks enough like a human for our minds to process it as such, but is so stylized, you can barely compare the two. It's absurd to pick out one or two unrealistic aspects while ignoring the fact that it doesn't actually resemble a human hardly at all. You see this in all anime style art, even the more realistic styles. It's about characterization, not realism.

"it doesn't actually resemble a human hardly at all"
Then how does everyone recognize them as human if they hardly look like one?

How does any one recognize a stick figure as human if they hardly look like one? Because if it has a head and two arms and two legs, stands upright, has similar proportions, and is the right color, it's human.

That's correct, so if a couple of lines can look like a human manga/anime characters can too.
The truth is most good anime/manga is so realistic that you could draw the bones of a human under them and it will still look human. You can't do that for a stick man.

You could potentially do that for a stick man. It just wouldn't fit right. Just as it wouldn't fit right to put an accurate human skeleton on an anime drawing. Don't know what anime and manga you are looking at, because I have yet to see anime/manga whose body structures are wholly accurate. But you obviously don't understand, or don't want to understand, so this conversation has been pretty pointless.

You make it look like everyone develops severe kyphosis in old age.

I agree, this is really useful, and having a male one too would be great.
