Description ... With a really long story.  It's been a long time coming for this costume to see the light of day.  I've had this horrific obsession with porting/modding it.  I kept waiting for Team Ninja to add it to DOA5... but they never did, so I assumed I would have to do it myself.  For the five years I was modding DOA5, I kept wanting to mod it into the game.  The one full attempt was still incomplete because the ribbons for the Razor's Edge version never worked right.  I made numerous partial attempts, but there was always something lacking whether it was the proportions, animations or even weapon details, something was always missing.  It wasn't even just this costume it was this particular iteration of this costume from Sigma 2... yes the one that looks like a pair of cruise missles stapled to a fence post.  I just cannot explain why I'm so partial to this one even as unnatural as it may be, but it probably is close to one of my favorite costumes across the DOA/Ninja-verse.

It's been extractable for a bit, but I needed the will to finally tackle it, given the effort needed to combine all the necessary details.  I had to work with the Vita meshes as a base.  Naturally, those are low poly, but I was less considered with updating those.  At least the textures are the PS3 version, which are surprisngly more high def than the Razor's Edge version which is a game newer by 4 years.  Given the lower poly base, some detail meshes were missing, so I still had to yank some of those from the Razor's Edge model and adjust them to fit the old version.  The key object was to retain the anatomy from the original and then not reinvent the wheel on assets that were the same.  All of the ribbons and their bones came from the newer model, but I still had to rig the base manually.  I even intended to keep the original face, but it still looked like the crummy wan expressioned format from DOA4.  It's unfortunate because a lot of the marketing shots for Sigma 2 definitely made Ayane look like she had a more mature face.  I'm not able to replicate the lighting or materials just yet to do that.  Because of that I just used her DOA5 face for now.  I also had to pull the sword handles from DOA5 since all other versions were lacking something.  This costume was never going to be complete without the swords with the tassles which I rigged manually too.  The old Warriors Orochi 3 model was so pathetic that it wasn't worth even attempting which had been the only accessible model for a long time.  Finally, a base render version is done. Ultimately, it required meshes and textures from four different game's worth of assets.

Edit (07/29/2018)
Wow, I was not expecting this one to gain so many favorites in such a short time.  I just wanted to render it as a sample, so I didn't exactly put a lot of care into it initially.  Since it is more popular, I decided to redo it along with the changes I was going to do anyway, this time at 4K.  Lots of little polish things like clipping, materials, mesh hitches etc.  I even added cloth to the ribbons to get some effects out of a Wind generator.  Thanks for the support thus far!
