Description
We hadn't actually been taught rigging and animating in class yet, but I decided to JUMP AHEAD and taught myself the fundamentals in a day or two using online video tutorial things.I have animated this character now, but before I did, I decided to pose her around a bit just to see whether the skin deformations all worked properly and stuff! It was my first time ever rigging anything ever, so I'm rather surprised it came out as well as it did (I was expecting crippling problems!).
Since I took the screenshots rather stupidly, you can still see all the curve things on on the rig, and the grid, so, uh, ignore those! Or maybe they're actually interesting to you?!
Anyway, this isn't perfect, but I like it considering it was my first attempt and everything, and I had a lot of fun with it!

I don't know if you've heard of it in your tutorials but in the latest version of Maya there are those "capsules" you can use to define the area to rig, haven't really tried it myself though, maybe I should try it in the future... It looked really useful and can be a great help if you ever come to struggle with specially difficult/near other faces rigging.
There also is that sketch tool in Maya you might want to try, it doesn't do anything really, only drawing on the screen to have a general idea about the overall scene/animation steps. You could find your own use to it I'm sure, only keep in mind it's not made to draw precise things.

Will you make more expressions for her in the future?

Those poses you chose for her are really cute! I really like the one with her balancing on the pot.

This is awesome. I absolutely love her design, and the name 'Erin' seems to fit so well! The wandblade does look a bit more smoothed out/fancy than the rest of her, though I actually really like the simpler parts too! Possibly more
I'm always interested to see what more you come up with, and I'm glad you enjoyed this ^^
