Description
i have had alot of people in the past either ask me how to draw raptors, or when will i make another tutorial. so here is a tutorial on raptors. grrrr. i hope its understandable and stuff. This will prolly be edited a few times, i plan to add a new section every now and then. i am open for critique from those who perhaps have had even more experience with dromaeosaurids.
i am always available for redlining.
EDIT LIST:

This is EXTREMELY helpful! I've based a lot of Bladewind (my raptor character) on old designs (Jurassic Park style raptors) that are not nearly as birdlike as new research has revealed. I've been wanting to redesign Bladewind for months...but I'm glad I was able to see this tutorial first!

So, basically, the wrong version = the Jurassic Park version?
Thanks for this. I've never drawn a raptor before, so this'll come in handy if I ever do.

Yes; Jurassic Park was pretty up-to-date by dinosaur movie standards when was released, but there were better reconstuctions of raptors even before it came out.
Raptors really are fun animals to draw-go for it! ^^

Crazy to think everything we've ever known about conventional raptors was a lie lol!

It's not so much a lie as it is that science marches on, and we've learned so much about them and dinosaurs in general since they were first discovered! It's really amazing how far we come ^^

GAWD this was needed. I notice a lot of those wispy flexible tails, and my favorite are stiff and rigid dino tails!
I admit I've made some mistakes though, especially with the kind legs. I've even... drawn broken wristed dinos....
BUT I DO know about the updated skull and talon issue. Lol....

Very informative! Thanks!
There's many deformed raptors out there! Mine own included D8 Unless it's a mutant, it should look like or be exactly like this.
