Description
On 23 December 1888, frustrated and ill, Van Gogh confronted Gauguin with a razor blade. In panic, Van Gogh left their quarters and fled to a local brothel. While there, he cut off the lower part of his left ear lobe. He wrapped the severed tissue in newspaper and handed it to a prostitute named Rachel, asking her to "keep this object carefully."
Vincent van Gogh is one of my favorite artists. When I saw this prop ear whilst out buying Halloween supplies well...you know, I couldn't resist.
I mean...that's a real ear. *cough* Yes. A real ear.

Love it! I'm currently in the process of making a prosthetic ear. I started out trying to cast a tongue but it was too difficult :') Much easier to keep your ear still then it is to stick your tongue in alginate. Very nice pic

I've never tried a tongue. Um. I don't know if I'd want to, because they are so oddly shaped when not in the mouth, that I'm unsure anybody would know what they were looking at without a description (unless the picture clearly stated somehow, or the title was "SHUT UP" or something).
Also, they are gross. I've seen cows tongues and ours aren't much different. Gross.

I tried to make one by sticking my tongue into a cup of alginate, it was DISGUSTING. And then when i poured latex into the mould to make it, it ended up looking really weird and unnaturally huge

You could always cheat, and get yourself a cow tongue. Seriously. Gross, but effective.

Tell them it's candy. That's what I'd do. Actually, I don't know if you work using model mayhem, but you can find some pretty .. interesting people there. There might be someone who is not adverse to it. There's girls there who will cover themselves in dead octopus. I'm sure a tongue isn't too far off.

A lot of them will TFP - if I had a better handle on my camera, I would def. check some of them out, but as it is, it's a spotty working thing. I just got a newer one though, so we'll see on that part. Maybe they'll do for intestines. Maybe they'll even WANT to do that haha

I love it so much!!!! I've finally got some time to check out on all the art I've been missing while life in the physical world got demanding and it is SO good to be back. This totally made my day for a million reasons. Last year *JacquiJax sent me a disembodied hand (not real!) and she posted some pictures of her cat eating a disembodied food. I now have this dream to make an entire body from photos people post of separate parts.
Outside of my strange ideas, this is just fucking awesome.

I like it too! It was fun to get it all set up - I went with showing less of a wound cause I tend to do that anyway, so I figured I'd stay with my style, I'm glad you approve

Yeah, it's too bad it's one of those sticky, gooey ears, so it's hard to work with
