Description
This is the version I feel I should have uploaded in the first place of my deviation - My Heartstrings Come Undone .
The reason for the re-upload of a different version?
This is my entry for #FrightClub 's contest -> Fright Club's Photography and Critique Contest .I feel that this piece shows the shadow play, use of lighting, use of home made props, and of course, the photograph itself.
My thanks to ~michealgrin for being so patient while I lathered Ben Nye Liquid Latex all over his chest, and being so stoic when I ripped it off. Also for being a big man when I sewed the prosthetic...just because you can't feel something doesn't mean you can't FEEL something.

You're right about the blood - but, there was little I could do about it, no matter what it either comes out too dark or too bright when I put this into photoshop - But I will be trying to alternate that again!

You know what? You totally managed to convey what you tried to, and the moment I set eyes on this piece my mind unconsciously started singing "and when my heartstrings come undone... I will wait for you, pray for you..." <33
I adore the song and your photo really does it justice! I love how you went for a more symbolical approach, seems to fit better than a more realistical wound

And I must agree, I think that something more believable would have taken away from the overall effect I was going for - Pleased as punch that you think it works

Make up looks pretty good yet it fails to be realistic though strings and the attachments looks pretty real.
As a veterinary medicine student, I can say this kind of wound is impossible to happen even at burns. I believe without the blood effect on the heart, it would look pretty good and pretty realistic.
As a photograph, point of view might be different, making a diagonal to catch up eyes from the lower right hand corner and making it follow the arms and strings to the center of attention which might be at upper left hand corner would be pretty stunning.
In my criticism, I meant no offence and it is totally my personal opinion.

I like a lot of the really random things that came together for this photo... Like, the fact that he has a tattoo on his forearm, two earrings in his left ear, a five o' clock shadow, et cetera. I really, really like this picture, it reminds me of the details that cause me to love horror movies.

I'm really, REALLY happy that you enjoyed it. You see all those little things that most people scan right by - I noticed them only on this one, as it's the 'redone' version of the original - This is my favorite as well because of all those things you have mentioned.

I've been asking for it for Christmas and my birthday for years but everybody thinks I am joking - Why would you want an old movie? Why don't you want a NEW movie, like Avatar or something?

Have you seen, if you are a fan of the old school fantasy, others like The Last Unicorn and Legend? Ohhhh and Willow? I know they don't really match up to the puppetry of Henson, but they are pretty good too. And of course, the Princess Bride.

I LOVE Willow and The Princess Bride. They're two of my favorite movies. I've never seen The Last Unicorn or Legend. Have you ever seen "The Princess and the Goblins" or "Once Upon a Forest"? They're just some cartoon movies that I lived off of when I was younger.

You really should see the Last Unicorn if you enjoyed the other movies listed, though! It's so retro 80's, and awesome.
Legend has Tom Cruise in it so it's um, sort of lame, but it's funny to watch him in the 80's, especially in a fantasy movie xD
