Description
A piece of giftart for because... well, because he's an awesome artist, and then he went out of his way to look over my crappy stuff and had the audacity to tell me it actually had merit. I have a soft spot for people like that.
This is his Mega Man OC, Cinder (or Cinder Woman, if you prefer). Apparently this wasn't a final version, but I liked the design and wanted to do something with it. I need to work on different poses-perspectives. It seems a lot of my pictures are looking like this, but I tried to mix it up with a bit of foreshortening.Β
The shading on this piece was a pain because she has so many light sources (read: flames). I'm happy with most of it... except for the hand/gauntlet in the foreground. I'm still not happy with that, but it's the best I could do and if I sat there and tried to work it any further, I was going to lose interest and this would never have been finished, so here she is, in all her blazing glory.
The original Character Chart for the character is found here. Seriously, it's a much better picture. The guy is pretty awesome with the Mega Man fanarts.Β
Yeah, I'm a suckup sometimes.

Shes freaking awesome I love her as a character. I used to do megaman drawings myself, but I just quit.

I think I do a lot of Mega Man because it's generally very simple stuff. Designs can get complicated, but they're all made of metal and shapes, making things easier because I don't have to deal with things like clothes or hair for the most part.

lol I see, I feel ya, Im trying to learn how to digitally paint, myself and how to make the characters look more realistic coloring wise.

Thank you. I'm still trying to figure out how I could've improved the coloring. Especially on the 'foreground' fist, but all-in-all I was quite pleased with the result.

It's natural for every artist to do their best to improve.
But even now, this piece looks pretty damn impressive.
And I'm not one to discuss coloring, but to me it looks amazing 83

Heh, well... the details of her personality are still kinda vague and I don't think they've been fully disclosed, so she may NOT quite be the 'BURN EVERYTHING!' types.
But who's to say she isn't, either?

OMG OMG OMG This is awesome! I love the pose you chose. It really uses the strengths of having large shoulder doodads on the character. You and I seem to have the same taste in poses. I know what you mean about the arm on the foreground though. I wouldn't even dare try that, but I think you did it nicely. I guess the torches cover parts of the hand makes the hand look a bit wierd. But thinking about it, nothing is actually wrong with it. XD Anyway, I love this! Thanks!

I admit those outrageous shoulderpads of hers made the perspective a little difficult to nail down, not to mention ended up covering a lot of other details, but I'm still happy how it came out. I admit that most of the shading was using your original picture as a reference (and the colors, of course) but I still like how it all came out... well aside from the aforementioned part, which still looks very off to me but I don't know what else to do with it.
Thank you for your comments always though. I know I'm hardly a hard-core artist, but they're nice to get.
