When dust settled enough so that Tom Orley could come out of hiding in the bog, he found himself surrounded by burning wreckages with smoke billowing from them. One of the wrecks, an egg shaped spaceship, seemed relative intact, and could be worth investigating for clues on the status of the fight in space, as well as for any supplies or equipment.

Tom had lost everything that was not attached to his suit. He now only had 1 psi bomb in his possession: one that would signal Streaker to take off. He had yet to obtain any intel that could help him decide whether the signal should be sent.

While Tom was trying to gauge the distance to the egg shaped wreck, a small scout craft struggling to stay aloft entered his view. Since it's projected crash site was much closer, its wreck was the first destination.
