Description Well it is time for my next round of stamps I feel.
I am mainly doing this out of boredom but I also feel it important to show my horrifically opinionated views to the rest of the world.

First one: My favoured programming language and quite possibly the only 'real' one. Everything else is a toy or museum piece. Or web development- which is about as serious as a clown with a pie on it's face.

Web 2.0... pfft. What will they think of next.

I will use this. Just about to learn C++ for good. I adore programming languages. Once you cracked the main logic it's kinda easy.

Awesome, I needed a C++ stamp to put on my profile

When I see someone programming in c++, I can only bow to him

Not touched it in a few years. Nowadays I am a Javascript coder.

Still, you learned c++ and that for me, is quite a feat.

Ahh I faved this stamp like 7 years ago and this is still so relevant to me since I still code a lot of things in C++ , besides of Python, C and Java. :3

Its a pretty flexible language. Though sadly I hardly ever use it now. The company I work for mostly deal in Java and JavaScript.

... HTML5.

Anyway, I'm now just learning C++, using the one book written by the creator himself, and I'm beginning to like the language too. I plan on using it to maintain open source projects written in it and, of course, write some myself.

It is a pretty good language though I must make a new one now. I have taken an enormous liking to C# and work have me going in Java which is kind of meh.

Yeah, C# really did learn a lot from Java.

I started my life as software developer with C and C++ (at 13 years old), and now I complemented it with Java and Python.

Aww, its not that hard to learn and is very powerful. You should give it time.

C++ is my friend. I find it perfect for most programming tasks, and I don't like programming in other languages if I can help it (PHP is almost identical for instance, so I like it a lot too).

I wouldn't give it up for C# or Java, but man do I hate tracing pointer bugs like nothing else...

PyroTeamkill In reply to Telgin [2008-01-04 14:23:17 +0000 UTC]

Gah! Pointers are the bane of my existence but I agree totally, C++ all the way man.

Ah programming. Another one of those thing like mathematics that I think is absolutely fascinating, but have never been able to learn.
The furthest I've ever gotten was attempting to program one of the city's logic controllers in BASIC during my internship.
Ended up walking away fascinated, but with the conclusion that I simply can't convince my brain to think that way.
Most aspects of computer use/ function/ repair I'm fine with, but programming continues to elude me.

PyroTeamkill In reply to TalenEmeraldblaze [2007-12-09 13:40:23 +0000 UTC]

Hello, not herd much from you in a while.
Programming and mathematics have allot in common. That may have something to do with not being able to learn it
3 years of a computer programming degree seems to have moulded my brain into the way of thinking. But I doubt I could learn on my own.

TalenEmeraldblaze In reply to PyroTeamkill [2007-12-10 04:46:33 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I've been pretty damn busy. Haven't had time to draw hardly anything in a while. Nothing serious, just doodles.

Work, College, other duties. All must come first. Hopefully I will get a chance to draw over the winter break.

Seems you've been pretty busy yourself, dude. It's nice to see you around again.

One of these days (fairly soon, actually) I will have to learn BASIC for my degree. Not looking forward to it. From what all my friends have said, my college's programming professor is absolute shit. (Several students have even tried to get him canned O.o)
But, yes, mathematics must be accomplished first.

Anyhow, hope all is well with you.

heh. My ex was working on C++ in his computer tech class not too long ago.
I can't remember whether he likes it or not. *shrug* we never talked about
those things -only yelled... but I won't rant at you...not now.

(and yes...I'm still watching you *stare* )

O_O
I am being watched.
*hides the evidence*

Sometimes I need to scream about C++. Programming can be a bitch. At least he had someone to share his screaming with

ohh yay, I got to listen to his screaming
It wouldn't have been such a big deal if he didn't make me feel like
it was my fault whenever something went wrong (not just talking about programming)

thats why I left, bitch couldn't stop blamming me. *folds arms* hmph

but yes, I watch you *huggle*

Not a fan of stamps, but a big fan of C / C++. But your argument about everything else being a toy? How about delphi the language alot of C compilers are written in and then maybe machine code.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PyroTeamkill In reply to omol [2007-12-01 23:34:40 +0000 UTC]

I said my views were "horrifically opinionated", not factual
To be embarrassingly honest I don't think I am smart enough to understand delphi- I am just a student and still have a little trouble with pointers >.<

omol In reply to PyroTeamkill [2007-12-01 23:58:01 +0000 UTC]

Delphi is alot easier than most of c++ You are not familier with byte code and complete OOP or even corba yet then. It's a great language keep it up. You have just inspired me.

I will certainly look into it. Thanks.
And yays for inspiration! What are you inspired to do? I'm curious.
