Description
"The End of Pwincess Woona."
Tia did nothing to aid her sister, her duty as Princess held her back.
Woona had worked so hard to get her Cutie Mark just so that she could be at her sister's side, but none of it mattered, the Pegasi trained Woona ruthlessly until she was up to their disciplined standard of Princess.
Woona was never seen or heard from again, and regal Princess Luna would emerge in her place almost a decade later.
The monarchy's plan was to divide the Royal sisters between the two most powerful tribes, Celestia to the Unicorn tribe, and Luna to the Pegasi tribe. Then when the two became of age they would be in leadership positions enabling them to unite the tribes once and for all, bringing harmony to the land of Equestria.
However the cultural differences between Unicorns and Warrior Pegasi were grievously overlooked.
Celestia was "groomed" by the Unicorns to become their leader.
Luna would be "forged in fire" by the Pegasi, Luna would not know fun nor happiness, nor would it be the last time Luna would be sent far away from her sister.
In the end all pony kind would be united in true harmony for a thousand years...
...all at the cost of one scared and helpless little filly who just wanted to be with her sister.

I really enjoyed this! I think it nicely sets up why they act so different in the series (besides the whole 1000 years on the moon thing). Great job!

Their reign would be met with some initial controversy when Princess Luna inexplicably had half the Pegasus military totrured and exectuted. But this was not unusual behavior for Pegasus royals, so the tribe payed little mind to it.

Well shit, this would've turned out to have been a good comic series or fanfiction if you're heading towards the grimdark area, but as much as I love grimdark, Luna's abuse saddens the hell out of me.

HOLY CRAP.
In all honesty, this could have worked out great in a long fanfiction or even a long comic, but as it is...it just feels unnecessarily dark and almost cheaply grim. Three pages of a comic don't ease us into the dark stuff, it just throws you right in there.

Depends on how you define "free". By using your time, then yes, artwork isn't free. I still maintain that the execution is poor, while the idea is a solid one. Why do something halfway?

Great art but the story leaves very much to be desired. It was cute and ok until the guards arrived, after which everything stopped making sense. Whoever had the idea for this as a complete story didn't think it through at all.
Celestia did not try to stop it? Do princesses have no power? Did the princesses not punish them in retrospect if they truly had no power now? Would anyone, even warrior cultures, find beating and imprisoning a filly/child a useful way to groom a ruler? Why would anyone ever agree to such a deal given the power of Alicorns?
Aside from the lack of actual closure or sense, I personally dislike views on pony culture that go in this dark direction where there seems to be cruelty for cruelty's sake. I would go so far as to say it is unfortunate you lent your skill as an artist to this silly 'story'.

I did, and I wrote my post after the fact.
You however need to stop spamming that line to everyone who has a dissenting opinion about the storyline in this piece. It is possible to criticize something even if you know it's intent. Try not to take it too personally, since as long as you enjoy it (being your commish and all) what does it really matter what others think? People have different opinions and some, like myself, can be a bit blunt about them.
Just to step back a bit though. I do not hate the premise out of hand even if it is a tad dark for my tastes, but it needs to be presented in a better way. What 'better' may be I leave to the imagination as there are many roads to Rome.

Maybe that's what they want us to know. Maybe they did never forget their warring instinct. Why are the military mainly pegasus? Including Wonderbolts as having a militar origin.
