Thank you for your kind words. The trick with watercolour is, imo, to give the work an ethereal quality/transparency, and I've been quite heavy-handed in this. But I do have other WC pieces in the works, so I hope to slowly improve.

Yes, I tend to be VERY heavy handed!! So do not feel bad. Its just one of thoes thing that like you said is a very SLOW proces. Good luck!! And you pen and ink is very inpresive. Do you ever use India ink?

Thanks! Am working on a couple of WCs this w/end, as a matter of fact. No, I don't because I am a lazy arse, and India ink is so very unforgiving of mistakes. I think perhaps I ought to give it a try at some point.

You're Welcome!! I agree. In one of my clasess we had to choose pen or India ink and me thinking id be all awesome, and would work in the ink..... Lets just say I rethought the assignment and did it in pen. Now I am working on somthing just for me in the India ink and I think its a lot like WC for the fact the more you mess with it the better you get. So give it a try some time!

I don't know how I missed this, but I LOVE it SO much!
The colours are so soft. I adore how it makes this winter scene seem so warm and cozy.
Their kiss is so sweet; I get butterflies in my belly when I look at this.
*LOVE*

You are too kind.
I'm actually quite rubbish at watercolours, so I was pretty pleased at how this actually turned out. Mind you, the scanned version looks a bit better (less messy) than the original. I had planned a few practice sessions to improve my watercolour technique, but have been waylaid by my Art Noveau/B&W illustrations obsession, so painting has been relegated to a nebulous 'later.' Sorry for the TMI!
*hugs you*

I'm so jealous! I wish I could use watercolors better. Your colors here are fabulous, love the composition, and it's just so sweet. Great job!

No, don't be! I couldn't ever write as well as you do. And FWIW, this is my first watercolour art I've done since I was in primary school. So really, it was a bit of a hit and miss job. Apparently, the judicious (or rather, liberal) application of alcohol to lubricate the brain cells aided the endeavour rather well.
And thank you. <3
