Drawn for the 2010 Snuna (Snape/Luna) Exchange over at LJ. The prompt was a request for an illustration of a fic called 'The Tao of Wands' by LJ user leela_cat, that she had written for the 2009 Snuna Exchange. I also want to profusely thank my art beta Alienor77310, for looking through the draft version, suggesting changes that made this pic infinitely better, and for working her magic in photoshop to get the sharpness and contrast just right.

I don't mind the pairing, but do prefer an older Luna, as she was in the fic I've illustrated here. I think she's in her late twenties, and an established wandmaker in the story. In fact, it's Severus that I worried looked too young in this! I think a friendship would likely work better since Severus might get impatient and irritated at Luna's fey aura and generally 'ditzy' attitude, but then again, she is incredibly wise, intuitive, patient and has this core of intergrity that might attract especially a post-DH world-weary Severus. I simply adore Luna as a character even though her illogic drives me mad at times! She is quite possibly my favorite character in HP canon apart to Severus. Well, Neville is a close contender too. This is even though I 'ship SS/HG mainly!

Haha! Yes, I do, but not for all my pieces. I find having a beta useful, especially when I am answering prompts for an exchange and I get stuck with my Muse or the composition. My beta is lovely, and she helps with sharpening things up in photoshop, etc. which I haven't a clue how to do yet.
