Description
Io again. This might become my ID at some point, but I kind of like my pouty Thrush too much atm.My power went out while I was doing commissions the other day, so I drew this while I waited for it to come back on. It's really hard drawing other peoples' characters without a ref of some sort D:
Thank goodness for laptops.
Io Β© Me
Was litstening to Tokyo and Somesing by STS9, Subspace Interference, Green Astronauts, Lethal Industry, Louder Than Boom, and Alone in the Dark by TiΓ«sto while I drew this. There was some other STS9 stuff on the playlist, but I don't remember which ones played.

It can hold a charge for a really long time as long as I'm not playing video games. Power is back now. It was only off for half an hour or so.

Well that's good I think mine goes for about 4 or 5 hours fully charged if I'm just drawing or something.

If I'm just frawing or listening to music, it can last from full charge for upwards of 6 hours. If I'm watching a movie or surfing the 'net, about 4 hours. And if I'm gaming, about 2 hours.

One more question...
If someone were to record it "barking" would it play back plain old silence, or would it have the same effect as if it were Io barking in person?
I hope that makes sense

It does. I think it'd play back plain old silence or static or something.

D: Damnit, school. Suppressing peoples' creativity like that all the time.
XD YEAHhhhhh. There's a centimeter or so of ice on my deck, but it's not on the roads. I think the school board was like "OH NOES ICICLES" and panicked. School is closed today.

School can be a bummer. I started reading my 3.5 inch textbook on Dreamweaver today and nearly died. Got confused. But at least I finally finished that alien creature thing I was talkin about!
Hey, possibly want to get together on MLKJ Day?
Yes, school board went "EEEK! The sleet will eat our buses!!!" It didn't matter to me. I don't have school on Tuesdays and Thursdays but I still have my online classes...

eh... whatever... I don't really keep track of that many artists... unfortunately... Because I often don't have very 'easy' taste in music. I can't say just from listening once whether I like a song or artist that much. It just kinda grows on you. Except rap. That grows none. But, yeah...

Pythosart In reply to Depressedmuch [2011-01-12 20:55:09 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, it takes me a while to get to like a certain song. Sometimes it doesn't matter, though. With "Feel it in my Bones", I loved it the first time I heard it.
Rap and country. Ugh. Never will they grow on me.

Yup, just decided that I have got to try Paint Tool Sai, because it's so freakin' awesome looking... I mean, go watch some speed paints on youtube, they're amazing... Say all you want about Photoshop, but if you use Windows, or have a copy nearby, Sai is better... At least for coloring's sake.

I've heard that it's a bit like a combo between Photoshop and Corel Painter. It doesn't have all the features of both, but it has features that both don't have, if you catch my drift.
Tell me what you think
π: 0 β©: 1
Depressedmuch In reply to Pythosart [2011-01-13 22:03:17 +0000 UTC]
I'll try to get Windows and Sai for my Mac, if I can get both, get them installed properly, and have my tablet agree with me and them, I'll tell you. But, yes. Sai is created entirely for the purpose of simulating to an extreme amount of anal-retentive detailedness, realistic art medium, such as markers, ink pens, watercolor and others. It is also an extremely small (read as really damn fast) program so it doesn't look all that pretty in the form of icons and such, but it includes such things as opacity masks (a temporary mask based on a painted selection) and layers, but it has a completely different way of controlling the paint tool as opposed to Photoshop, in the sense that it smoothly integrates not just a fade, but it had fade, size control, directionality and opacity controlled by tablet pressure. Plus it's got a scratch pad that is shared by all open windows of the program. It's basically a sub menu that you use like the drawing portion, but you can keep and blend colors there like you would a paint palette. Another interesting feature is the ability to easily and quickly rotate freely the canvas, and flip it without actually adjusting the cavas, aka, if you save it it isn't rotated any in the saved file. The only thing really different in shared tools is that, unlike Photoshop, it was never intended as a photo-editing software, and as such lacks filters and levels control among other features.

Well, my "crowd" at school all kind of have similar interests. Art, video games, books, electro music, etc. I've learned of some good artists through them. Namely The Glitch Mob, TiΓ«sto, and Nalepa.

Well I prefer more of the trance sub-genre myself if you are ever looking for some new artists.
Again, you are vveeerrryyy lucky cause I had to enjoy all those things myself, making the occasional friend through video games. Or WoW. I am very jealous. xD

I like some trance, but not if it's annoyingly repetitive, which many trance tracks are. I like electro because it combines analog music with electronic music, and often has a vocal component.
I don't play many multiplayer games. If I do, it's usually a co-op like L4D or Killing Floor. Part of the problem is that most of the multiplayer games I would play aren't out for the Mac yet D:

cudo215 In reply to Pythosart [2011-01-12 22:11:31 +0000 UTC]
Oh, I totally get what you're saying. But I think pretty much every genre of electronica has that potential. Vocal components are good but it's usually the melody that does it for me; I like progression which I find can't really be found in a lot of Tiesto's music, for example. Hmmm, I'm interested to see if you'd like this song "Moan" by TrentemΓΈller ([link] ) or for the vocal remix ([link] ). Also, "Die Anyway" by SGX ([link] ). If you get a chance to listen to any of those, let me know. ^^
I play on the xbox360 when it comes to most multiplayers. I do have L4D and L4D2 though, and I recently just got Team Fortress 2...which I found I suck at, haha.
