Hey there!
Thank you very much for the comment I am always glad to read such things, as it means that my tutorials help people around
As for the male MH characters I haven't thought about creating such a thing.
I can tell you how I do it and I hope it will help you figure it out on your own
To study the anathomy measurements of the cheracters I simply print an official art and place a semi-transparent piece of paper on it (you can also use any window to be able to see the picture from the page on the bottom (then you can use any piece of paper really) and try to draw stick figure from the picture behind. Then try to use simple shapes (circles, elipses, triangles, rectangles) to build on the stick figures. And that is basically it, really

With Ms Paint you can't work on layers so I believe it's better to use some more advanced tool for this, yet if you want to work in Ms Paint it is possible. Just a bit more tricky when it comes about erasing the elp lines

I'm gonna try this at some point, it's just gonna be hard cuz I don't have a tablet OR this program.

I'm glad You are willing to try it
Don't worry about tools and software, it can be applied to anything
Every drawing software is simmilar (except for Paint), so it's just a matter of some adjustments

I only use MS Paint and Gimp, but I don't really understand Gimp, so I usually use Paint.

I think that Gimp is really nice tool to work in and you should stick to it more If you get used to it and learn some tricks it'll become your best art-friend, trust me

For the pass two years I've been trying to do this style and I've referred to this tut as well as others, and just studying the actual MH art... but I just can never get it.Β
I think the jump from Disney to Monster High is a rough one xD
BUT as I am inspired by your lovely skills and great pieces, I will try this style once again. *fight music*

Qba016 In reply to SpicePrincess [2013-09-30 18:19:35 +0000 UTC]
Yeah I think that I had a bit easier work as I transfered from Winx which is closer to MH than Disney is. Get it, girl!
π: 0 β©: 1
SpicePrincess In reply to Qba016 [2013-10-02 00:42:58 +0000 UTC]
Yep!Β
Those stepping over from the Winx fandom haven't had much trouble, case and point, yourself xD
I think it's because Disney/Dreamworks/semi-realism has a lot of round shapes, soft shading and curves, and everything is kinda gentle and whispy and smooth. Whereas Monster High and Winx styles are more angular, with hard turns and points and strong color with strong shading... and MH with that crazy thick black outline. Β And the proportions are a lot more abstract from reality.Β
but that's Β never a reason not to try xd

Qba016 In reply to SpicePrincess [2013-10-02 10:31:09 +0000 UTC]
That's 100% right. I think that Disneyish style transitions whole lot better into EAH as they are smooth and gentle in lines and shading
π: 0 β©: 1
SpicePrincess In reply to Qba016 [2013-10-05 20:59:49 +0000 UTC]
Yeah XD That's why it was easier for me to draw my EAH characters. Β Round faces and softer lines.

Qba016 In reply to SpicePrincess [2013-10-06 18:52:43 +0000 UTC]
Yess! I was pretty much struggling with Penny's legs. they are so round! as her head and all the smoothiness xD

SpicePrincess In reply to Qba016 [2013-10-12 19:39:44 +0000 UTC]
Aww pshh you didn't do bad at all. I think you did a wonderful job at the style.
But I can see why you'd have issues. The legs are very different from MH, and pretty close to the average Disney style leg.

Qba016 In reply to SpicePrincess [2013-10-13 13:01:27 +0000 UTC]
That's why I'm closer to either Winx of MH and I guess my personal style would be as well

Hi! I'm just now deciding to upload my drawings of my mh ocs to deviantart. I live this website, and I use my iPhone 5 to go on deviantart. how do you make the bio pages and make the picture of the oc look so animated? Please reply
π: 0 β©: 1
Qba016 In reply to zippy193 [2013-05-19 11:53:45 +0000 UTC]
Well, hello Zippy
As for the bio pages of characters (as seen on official Monster High site) there is this blank template sheet aroud Deviantart, which You can easily find
As for the second question I'm not sure what do You mean. Would You mind to rephrase it? Cuz I dunnoif You mean coloring or posing or what?

I used this for my latest OC, Rosie Ringer. I have to say, this is far easier when you have a drawing tablet! Great tut - love it.
