hello everyone, I'm back, the boi. I have just gotten myself settled and now am back into swinging out art for all y'all.
this here is a follow up to the previous design I had made and posted here for the armor for the Legionnaires of the Lunar Order military. This suit, formally called a Powered Combat Skin, is among the most advanced standard issue kits of armor in the solar system.
After the big war known as the Second Eclipse brought destruction to the Moon and nearly toppled their civilization in one fell swoop. The Lunar Order decided to reform its military into the Solar Order, taking the name of a once legendary legion of warriors that protected the empire of the Lunar past. Building everything from the ground up, they used all of the facilities of both magic and technology to create the best fighting force ever constructed, with the spearhead of their armies being the individual Legionnaire.

I have been trying to perfect my vision of the Legionnaires for a while now, as seen with their previous incarnation posted here on DeviantArt that still proves to be one of my most popular pieces. My friends and I always loved Clone troopers and wanted them without actually having them y'know? And of course I love armor design so put two and two together and we have this. I am in love with armor, and not just for the looks but also about practicality, armor is awesome. I try to make my armor equipped with a sense of realism through a good mix of proper articulation, protection, and comfort within them as that little extra spark that turns a normal piece of kit into something that is plausible while still looking great. As I said in my previous art, I tried very hard to make these guys look badass while still being quite clearly "the good guys", a tough combination to pull off as you either go too into the badass section and they end up being very similar to many other existing designs with common tropes, or you go far too into the good guys and they end up looking like dorks with silly proportions that don't make them look like a competent military arm and would be wiped by the much cooler looking bad guys. But after enough iterations that has gone on for years, I am quite happy with this near final design that only needs a few details dinged out for future projects. I am glad to present, the Solar Legionnaire.
