If anyone wants to draw a humourous version of the "fanart" that they're looking at, send it in and I'll add it to this piece or link it!So what got me to draw this? I was browsing through Marauder fanart and it was just how there was so much shit out there. I mean, no matter how well they're drawn or coloured, it's not right to portray James, Sirius and Remus as Greek Sex Gods while Peter looks twelve (if he's even there). I don't like him either, but he was still a part of the group. As for Lily, I don't think she's the sort to have a short skirt and an unbuttoned blouse... RESPECT FOR THE MARAUDERS PLEASE!
In all fairness there are some artists that do them justice though
Anyway this was a great excuse to FINALLY draw the Marauders. I LOVE them, but I never draw them! Except Lily and James. So yeah... wow, the first I've ever attempted with these guys. Pretty significant. It was a rush job overall, and I can draw better but ah well. I'm real lazy when it comes to drawing. I'll work on that.
You know what, JKR did a good job for the Golden Trio, but as for the Marauders, they're a bit TOO perfect. She kinda portrays telented and good looking = good and "less talented" and ugly/plain = bad with the Marauders. And she seems to love red heads (Weasleys/Lily/Young Dumbledore) and dislike blondes (Peter, Malfoys, Dursleys/Grindlewald). Why JK. Why dis my hair colour? ResPECT. Haha (funnily enough she's blonde now too....?)

They ARE all answered. James WAS jealous of Snape's closeness to Lily and the fact that he was a deatheater and hated how dangerous he potentially could be to Lily (which he ended up being). And James and Sirius did grow up around sixth year just because. No reason really - boys do eventually grow up. Still, Sirius said in book 5 that they still did pick on snape from time to time. We all know why. But they did used to pick on other people before that. They were bullies - bullies just do that to make themselves feel better (and James wanted to show off to Lily). I guess they just had big heads because of their status in the school and because they COULD pick on people. Snape's worst memory sums up everything really - no wonder Harry's so shocked. Here he was thinking his dad had always been such a brilliant guy, and he was a jerk!

This is so funny and spot-on! Great point about everything. Actually, even though you have James saying it here, I've noticed that in a lot of marauder pics also depict Sirius shirtless, or at least has his shirt unbuttoned. I mean, I get that James and Sirius were troublemakers, but since when does troublemakers = half-naked? Surely McGonagall wouldn't have tolerated them walking around with unbuttoned shirts?
Anyway, as to Rowling hating blondes, Luna is dirty-blonde, and I'm pretty sure that in the books Neville was blond too (despite the fact that I CANNOT picture him blond at all, thanks in part to Matthew Lewis's portrayal of him in the movies.)

Oh, and Fleur was blonde too! I know she has a rep for being all looks and nothing else, but she's definitely on the good side, and I found the way that she completely didn't care about Bill becoming a semi-werewolf to be very touching. (I was disappointed that they cut that plotline out of the movie.)

Here's an idea for another version of this image:
Include Snape too. He could be all emo and say something to the effect of "I wish I was that good-looking."
(It's making fun of the fanart depicting Snape as being basically Sirius Black with a bent nose instead of being the scruffy, unwashed kid he's depicted as being)
Pushing Peter closer to James and Lily would provide adequate room, or you could make him true to character and have him sort of hovering behind Lily.
Of course, I think the joke's already been made with the "I have ABS" comment...

Hi. We are looking for great Twilight (or other) art for submission to our Twilight Symposium in Forks. All proceeds go to Forks High School. We really hope you'll submit some of your pieces.

Artists' information will be displayed with their works so that attendees will know from whom they can order commissioned work. Also, for each piece donated to the auction, the artist will receive a letter to be used for their non-profit donation.
I hope you submit some of your great art!

Hi,
This is a literary symposium where educators, librarians and fans come together to discuss specific literature. This one is about Twilight, but our first was specific to HP (our FIRST love!!!)
During the event there are vendors and an art display room--think of a little museum...hehe. Then at the end, we auction off the pieces and the proceeds go to the Forks High School art department--the event is being held at the school.
Our events are structured much like the HP cons put on by HPEF...have you attended those?
We are looking for literature-inspired (and sci fi-inspired) art for the display. And I just LOVE this piece in particular!! So darling!! You are, though, allowed to submit up to four pieces. We will also advertise whether or not you are taking commissions.
Complete info on the art is at: [link]
Please let me know if you have any other questions and please submit some of your work!!
Thanks,
Aly

haha I love Remus's expression when he's saying "Ooooh, I have ABS!" aw, don't you just want to hug him? Well, I do
It's true, there's a lot of weird stuff out there, and I've seen a lot of Lily pictures and it's like "LILY WOULD NEVER DO THAT!" and you do have to feel sorry for Peter, always being left out, and Sirius always shown as a bit of a man slut. I do wonder WHY J.K hates blondes so much...

The movies show them as brunette, the book says Petunia and Dudley are blonde.
Yeah, I don't get why she is blonde. She was red head at one point too.. I'm sure she's naturally brunette

I'm naturally blonde and tend to die it brown (it always ends up fading back to blonde though!) and people get so annoyed at me for doing that because so many dark haired people would "kill" for my hair colour. I guess it's a society thing - blonde hair/blue eyes is rarer and therefore more desirable.
But also it comes with the negatives of stereotyping - if they're not weirdos, they're snobby, upperclass or like, beautiful teenage b****es! (usually those ones dye their hair blonde). Which is a horrible stereotype. Then again redhead men tend to be seen negatively and redhead women are also more desirable.
Black and brown is "boring and common" so people want to stand out and be different...?

lolz yeah i suppose but i like my hair the way it is... although having straight hair would be great lolz, yeah i know what you mean... at my school here you are not stereotyped by your hair... but more by the way you wear your uniform and how you treat others... which kinda sucks for me coz i did this creepy voodoo barbie thing for my major art work last year (i got a b on it then my brother destroyed it) they had to lock it away, and now everyone calls me a "voodoo, vampire, witch, freak, werewolf, sadist" and the only part i dont like is the werewolf... lolz >.<
y would you want to be diffrent? i dont understand society these days... (and never did) not much stereo typing in my school... except they will belive anything i tell them, so i dub my school, "fucking morons" lolz >.<

Ah, no it's just high school that is just seriously bad. Kids can be horribly judgmental and label you. This one girl who became my friend, when I was 13 and still blonde, thought I was bitchy because I was blonde and pretty when she first saw me! Obviously we became friends and she saw my real side, but woah! (Though when she told me I was flattered coz she thought I was pretty!). lol

yeah, i supose, i get pretty badly labeled as the school nutjob, and get told by teachers and students (including the counselor) that i should be in a mental home... yet they do nothing to send me there.... lolz i make friends then i lose them, thats how my social life goes... i'm like a friendship tolerance tester.... all the new peoplez become my friends, find where they stand socially, then go and leave me for the more popular peoplez.... >.<

quidwitch In reply to physcopredluva [2009-04-23 08:31:30 +0000 UTC]
I'm sure that's not the case. Everyone has friends - even the ones who seem socially enept at making them. You'll have true friends somewhere. They're just not where you are. Of course some people are nice and want to make you feel good by hanging out with you but after time it's usually down to who they feel comfortable hanging out with that they leave. Not that you're uncomfortable to hang out with and nor that they're leaving you for popular people. It's just the way humans are. Who cares anyway - in the end we have to be selfish to get anywhere in life. It's only when you marry someone when you have to give that lifestyle up! lol

lolz i've rarely ever been selfish, i've taken more than my amount of days off to help my mother... sh is constantly sick, so i miss alot, but even though i never end up doing the work i missed i learn what i didnt learn and move on, and i'm pretty sure it is my case, or the "friends" i have wouldn't make me want to kill them everyday with their jokes that, they seem to forget, is placed at me, and an short, icy temper that i usualy can control... but sometimes... if i'd had a weapon... there would be no one left who would be my friends because i would have killed them for mocking me... they know i hate it, but that doesnt stop them, the only thing keeping my temper on it's chained leash is that i want to become a female wrestler, and i have to finish school first,(high school, then wrestling school) so that i can be free of them! >.<

Look, I'm not an expert on guidance and all but I think it would really help if you just stayed positive. I've had my share of people who have made me cry but wishing them dead is going a bit too far. It's not healthy to think that way and those people are not worth it! If you stay confident, ignore them and don't let them get to you then they won't enjoy mocking you or whatever because you're not reacting in the way they want you to. Even saying something witty back to their remarks will help them stop. Think of high school (and humans in general) as being a part of a large food chain. It's all about Survival of the Fittest. The fittest are those that no one dare stand up to because they're confident, cool, or just plain scary. The ones at the bottom of the food chain are those who are alone, don't fit into any clique and are easy targets for bullying. It's time for you to stand up because you don't deserve that crap! Focus on things you can do well, try hard at school, if you're having real difficulties talk to a teacher or a member of some mediating crew, anything to help you out. And of course the best revenge is to succeed later in life so carry on with the wrestling if you want!!

Sounds like it's just in Australia though. My two friends went to Australia (separate times and places) and both found they were picked on and suffered - particularly one because she was into the "emo" look and sound and wasn't tanned and blonde. In New Zealand they fitted in quite fine (even if they weren't in the top clique)
