I always loved and still do " TRANSFORMERS THE MOVIE " From 86! And Unicron was a real bad guy to fear!
I took a poke at him. Here we have him in mid-form from planet to robot. I will work on adding a different version with a foreground element to really show he's amazing scale.

Interesting. A logical take on the guy: who says that a guy on his scale would have clear edges or a casing to his form?

I would say that he is, Transforming on a planetary scale, it may take some time, so he's body is in constant moment.

Very cool. It reminds me how in the comics it was explained he was originally an interdimensional energy being (a god basically) who built himself the robotic form to feed, it's almost like I can his nanobacteria building his face.

Really!? I never looked at the comics. I love that idea! I figure he's so friggin huge! Though he can just be sitting there in the void of space, his body is in constant moment, always building, shifting, forming itself to become more powerful then before, bettering itself with the elements of all the different systems in space he's been through.

Well the story is that he and his brother, Primus, are gods and were originally one being. The One, basically the equivalent of what we'd call god, split them. Primus was the good god and Unicron was the evil one which sought to destroy all reality. Due to their conflicting natures they battled across the cosmos ultimately leading Primus to trap them in two different planets to stop the battle from destroying anything else. Unicron eventually morphed his planet into his body that you always see him in and Primus became Cybertron.
