rachaelm5 In reply to ??? [2015-02-02 21:54:15 +0000 UTC]
Thanks!
These guys are what got me thinking about the Stone Dragons, which all ended up being pretty complex, twisty designs. Β Though this was a heck of a lot of work, I really liked the way the design turned out in the end and I thought it would be a good direction to go when I was up for another self-challenge. Β

Maybe I'm strange, but I like this better than the final.

They both have good qualities, which is why I offer them as two separate pieces. Β I've had people go gaga for the final version, too, because they like the strict geometric layout of the background. Β It takes all kinds. Β

Thanks. I finished up the project back in 2008, but realized that I hadn't added the dragons to any of my groups.

*Marathon* epic. That was a very long day in colored-pencil-land.

Thanks very much. This was one of my earlier horribly complex dragon knots. I need to work out a three, four, and five-dragon knot for the next few of these projects, I think.

Thanks!
It's all finished as of 2008; this is a retro-post to several groups, since they didn't exist back when I actually drew this design.

I must have missed it..... nothing like working on something for years! lol! When you get your piece it will have a whole lot of history in it for sure, but it will be well worth the wait!

The history of a work of art is at least as interesting as the work itself. Many, many art history books are proof of this truth!

Dragons are my favorite mythical beasts, the other being Cerberus.
This is amazingly beautiful! So detailed and complex!

Thanks very much!
Dragons are my favorite overall for their sheer variety of form and color, but I also like mythological beasties generally.

Thanks very much!
Patience for this kind of thing is something you build up tolerance for, like you do with poison. Almost *exactly* like building a tolerance for poison, considering what a long session of drawing little dragon scales in colored pencil will do to my arm and eyes...

You're welcome
I've done long drawing sessions to the point that my hand cramped up and i couldn't move it for an hour lol. Great metaphore.... poison ^^ I tend to move back and forth between things and tend to forget about something until way later.
