Description
Finally, finally got this lovely lady colored. The requestor was quite specific about having her sort of "tigerish" in the details, but left it open for me to do whatever kind of armour I thought best. I went for a fairly ornate design, just for fun.Once again, I used a watercolor wash as an underpainting and did the details with Prismacolor pencils. Why red? Um... Cuz it seemed like a good idea at the time...?
I like high-contrast; I think that's most of the reason right there.

What a wonderful lady predator, no? The red was a good choice, if you ask me. It gives a certain feeling to it..Like the predator is going to go hunting.
Her tiger stripes are magnificent. They look absolutely, well, cool!

Actually, based on what I've seen of the only female Pred character to make it into the comics (and therefore Canon), the gals look very similar to the guys, saving one obvious bit. They're all built massively muscular, and the female Preds (as with terran reptiles and amphibians) are ususally bigger than the males. Seh'thei is an exception, and she gets a lot of grief for the fact - that's coming from her creator directly.
The color schemes among Predator skin tones seem to be as variable - perhaps moreso - than human skin tones. That depends on the artist entirely - The original movies set the standard with yellowish skin and red, brown and black markings. The comic book artists will make skin tones anywhere from pale yellow to yellow-green to tan to reddish brown to dark bluish-green. The folks who create Predator player-characters have therefore run the gamut without really giving much mind to gender distinction.

No-no-no-no... That's some pretty interesting info. Really it is. Thanks. Hmmm... I really didn't understand how llike people could tell the sexes, and this helps. I'm not being sarcastic or anything, but that's pretty cool.
