Description Back at the end of 2004...

Okay, so first I wanted to try out my new Zig Millenium pens (which I like a whole lot and must therefore thank =avancna for the recommendation )...

I had to work on Christmas day in 2004. That's one of the bummer deals about working in a 24/7 datacenter, but all in all, things went well. Being a holiday, the phones didn't ring and the mainframe systems behaved themselves because almost no one was logged on. I got bored, and for once had been given permission to draw during work hours. So this picture is what popped out.

I had seen some Nigerian dancers and drummers the previous day (on the Richard Pryor Hour) and thought that their energetic movements would translate well onto Predators. So I whipped this out and got all crazy with the Zigs.

This is actually one in a series called "Ritual Song". These two Predators are part of a larger group who are dancing and beating on things, making a great deal of racket, keeping the local wildlife awake, and re-enacting a Hero-Battle legend of one of the warrior gods.

I wonder what sort of inspiration a Tycho drum demonstration would give you.
Kudos to the use of ZIG Millenium pens.
I may need to ask you to buy some for me, as I'm finding it harder and harder to find them in the area.

Have a look at the Dick Blick art supply catalogue online. Here's a direct link to the page with the kind of Zigs I'm using; I don't know whether or not they're the same ones you like: [link]

Well, this is the first time I've seen dancing predators! Good job with it, very good job. I like the movement on this piece and the shading is lovely work.

OOo! Lovely pen work. The preds look kickass and I am very picky on my preds. The bodies and armor is really nice. Sweet poses too, nice action weight!
