Uh...actually there's already lotsa (better) tutorials for flame effect around, but some peoples has asked me to do one of my own so....here's how I make the flame~
Just hope that this can be useful.....

It would be a bit different since SAI's water and smudge tool work differently from PS's but give it a try.

do you know where to download a soft brush? for some reason my ps doesn't have one

That's really weird. Have you checked on the right-click menu? It should be there by default. Otherwise, you can download any kind of brush anywhere, just ask google. But I doubt you can find an actual soft brush, since it should already be there by default.

I hope you don't mind me saying, but that spider-thing on the left looks very chibi-cat-like... It looks awesome, but the coloring is very tabby cat looking...

Tapi kl misal mau bikin api yang dari tubuh gimana "orz
ini ada fire source nya, atau lebih tepatnya yang dibakar, tumpukan kayu, trus pake smudge keatas, jadi ditarik keatas. Misal kl dari tubuh/armor, kan jadinya bisa kaya kabut tuh, itu darimana mulainya "orz
Warnanya juga, kl blue flame, warna akhirnya apaan? Biru terang? Banyak tanya karena butuh info banyak soal ini "OTZ

Kalo ada source nya? Ya Api nya ditarok di layer di atasnya object to Jadi pas dismudge gak ikod kebawa objeknya. Teros tinggal ganti dah layer apinya ke screen ato overlay geto.
Biar lebih keliyattan efeknya, objeknya selayaknya dibikin agak hitam dengan ctrl-L.
Blue Flame yah tinggal disusson dari biru terang-biru gelap. Kalu gak mau susah2 ya bikin api biasa teros ctrl-U, colorize, dah maenin da~ =w=

Nggak, maksudnya kl kebawa angin, bagian bawahnya itu kecil atau tetep lebar kaya kl statis gitu, ngikutin obyek yang kebakar seberapa.
Rada bingung ngebayangin kaya bola api gitu ketiup angin kaya apa =n=;

Kalu gw bilang bagen bawahnya pasti statis teros, cuma blaze yang di atasnya it yang lebih tipis dan mengarah kemana angin tu berjalan...

Very useful tutorial. But you can use this on gimp too, right? I mean, that smudge tool (?) is also available on gimp.
