Description For a long time I've wanted to do a new Sephiroth fanart. I know I did one way back when and I was kinda curious if I can depict him better/more epic with my current skill level. I think I'm happy? This piece captures Sephiroth's determination not to get absorbed into the Lifestream. He's staring intently at his sword and is remembering his hate (-cough-obsession-cough-) with Cloud.

Weeeh. I think I'm going through a Pablo Picasso blue phase since Acheron's color palettes were pretty 'moody' too. I haven't been doing much art AT ALL until now. I'm starting to get my spark again and I got two more original ideas I'd like to complete this month. But wow, I've been really out of it this year. :/ I've had some nightmares related to the cons too, about me showing up with nothing new. It's the equivalent of coming to school naked. I guess that's why I'm not in the mood to do happy colorful art late. I'll try my best for the next pieces.

Mentioned in the official novel:The Life Stream took Sephiroth memory.He decided to put Cloud as their spiritual core.
As long as Cloud remember me, I will exist forever.

This artwork reminds me of that scene.

I love the detail put into this! The stylized approach to his hair was a nice touch, too and the lifestream looks very interesting the way you did it.

Fantastic!
I immediately thought of the Lifestream when I saw this! It has this calming but also mysterious feeling to it.
I just love the flow of the whole drawing, everything seems really well balanced. I especially like his elegant posture and the flow of his hair, really amazing!

First off: I absolutely love your avatar! I can't stop looking at it! I find myself dancing along with it too. (starts to sway left and right)

Secondly: thanks! Sephiroth really is full of hotness. I was determined to do something sexy. I haven't done Sephiroth work in ages so I'm glad he came out okay. Of course, like I said, I wanted something very sexy. Hence, the suspenders. Teeeee... some nipple action!

Many thanks for taking the time to check out my piece and leaving this wonderful comment. The Sephiroth piece is actually a combination of traditional and digital medium. I like working with both. It's something I adapted to for the past few years. I like that combination of digital cleaness mixed with some of the rawness of the traditional work.

Wow Sephiroth looks gorgeous! I love the colors and his hair's just stunning! The texture makes it look just like watercolors, so incredible, I just love how you draw

Thanks for the comment! I actually began this as a watercolor painting. Then I started the digital painting process and still retained some of my natural textures. I find working with traditional plus digital medium to be a fun combination. I work a lot looser and faster that way.

Oh that totally makes sense! I wasn't sure how something could look so much like watercolors but be digital! Very cool blend of mediums, it works perfectly for you and your lovely style! I like blending mediums too, but I'm not as good with watercolors as you so I do pencil & digital instead

Eeee! Thank you so much for commenting on the background. LOL, I had such a tough time with the lifestream. I didn't want it competing with Sephiroth's awesomeness, but at the same time, I wanted it to be very organic. Thanks for taking the time to comment on my Sephiroth piece.

I like your version of him; it's interesting with the wavy hair (my favorite part of the hair ) and you did a great job making those blasted bangs look natural, which is always a challenge with this guy (in my opinion, anyway). Really nice pose and colors too

Thank you so much! And I wholeheartedly agree: Sephiroth's bangs are the devil. It's terrifying getting those damn hair strands right. Hell, even the game creators can't decide on his bangs since they looked different from Advent Children and Crisis Core. And speaking about challenging hair... right now I'm doing Cloud. His hair... I think if I make it through in one piece with him I'm gonna shave his head off in a bit of retaliation.

That's absolutely right - the bangs looks different in every single game! I used to joke that you could tell how old he was by the length of his bangs.

LMAO at the Cloud thing! Cloud has a chocobo hairdo. Imagine him with a buzzcut...

Thank you so much! The color palettes took me awhile to experiment. I'm used to splashing everything with rainbow colors, lol. But for this one, I had to go with a moodier feel so I kept it almost monochromatic with spots of color. Many thanks for taking the time to check this piece out and comment on it.

With colours, sometimes less is better (I found in hard way).. I am still learning about colour schemes and whatnot, and you're absolutely right about the "moodier feel" you certainly have achieved here!!
