Okay, so this is my submission to the battle frontier pokemon contest. I have been working on it for like, a week (school was NOT fun this week), but it's done and I got to use my tablet again...though I need to find the software for it so I can get it to work better.... Well, anyways, here is my OC Rei, for those of you who have seen his previous versions he does look quite a bit different, but I kinda like it!

Raifiel "Rei" Smithson

Adopted by a family in Snowpoint as a baby, Rei was raised entirely by women; the family lived on the outskirts of town and Rei had four older sisters, so he didn't have a lot of contact with males. His first pokemon was an eevee, given to him for his tenth birthday as a good luck gift for the start of his pokemon journey. Though many eevees raised in Snowpoint choose to evolve into Flareons or Glaceons, Rei's family had always had a tradition of starting off with an electric type pokemon and it didn't hurt that the thusly named Raitei had an independent streak.

Rei had never been out of Snowpoint before starting on his pokemon journey, and had been used to the eternally chilly weather that came with living in the coldest region of Sinnoh; so when he first left Snowpoint, he was delighted to be able to wear lighter clothing (so while I show his main outfit as being the winter clothes, if it is above 50 F, he will be wearing his summer clothes). His eldest sister accompanied him to Professor Rowan to recieve his pokedex, but after that, she headed back to Snowpoint.

Rei is a warm caring boy who is extremely observant in battle. He has feminine tastes due to being raised by women, but he prefers battles to contests and an offensive strategy. He's fairly empathetic, so it often appears that he can understand what his partner pokemon are saying, though this is not the case.

His signature item, the gracidea flower, was given to him by the flower shop owner as a gift. Though he loves wearing it in his hair, he stores it away when it gets too cold to prevent it from wilting (the flower appears to be eternal as it has not been damaged yet despite Rei's many adventures).

Raitei- Jolteon

Rei's first pokemon that he recieved when it was just an Eevee. From the first, Rei and Rai agreed that he would become a Jolteon, a tradition in Rei's houshold. Raitei is a very reliable pokemon, often having to work as peacekeeper among the group of clashing personalities that is Rei's team. He may have an agreeable nature, but Raitei also has a need to be seen as an individual (as evidenced by his earings).
Nature:Mild
Ability:Volt Absorb

Sunako-Garchomp

Sunako is Rei's powerhouse, strong and fast. However, despite being one of the more violent species of pokemon (and she can be if she wants to), she is generally unmovitated and rarely takes battles seriously. It takes a worthy opponent to really get her serious. She is fiercely protective of her friends but slow to open up to strangers. She is slow to rise to insults but cannot resist a challenge.

Kirikatsu-Metagross

Kiri is another major source of brute force on Rei's team. It was picked on as a Beldum due to its happy-go-lucky nature, it wasn't up to fighting for teritory. Rei befriended Kiri and decided to help it become more assertive. Though Kiri is still not as serious as other Metagross, it is well trained for battle due to traveling with Rei.

Enkou-Arcanine

Enkou is easy enough to understand: he's still just a puppy in an Arcanine's body. He loves to chase balls and can never resist a Pachirisu. Like most Arcanines, he is fiercely loyal. He was originally raised to be part of the officer Jenny police force canine unit, but his airheaded manorisms weren't suited for the work. After assisting in the rescue of a man being held captive by Team Galactic, Rei offered to take the ADHD pup off of the police forces' hands.

Hihime-Froslass

Another pokemon from Snowpoint city which Rei captured on his return to fight the gymleader. A rare thing for Rei's party, Hihime was not befriended and then caught. Though she grew to admire Rei, she does not agree with his love of warm weather or her teammates' chummy attitudes. She gets along least with Sora, who tends to act as an especially naggy mother for the group. She tends to play practical "jokes" on the other pokemon when they decide to try and be friends.

Sora-Crobat

Another pokemon that Rei "caught" instead of "befriending," Sora is an unusual Crobat. She gained an attachment to Rei when he caught her as a Crobat and took it upon herself to make sure that the carefree boy took care of himself. She often scolds the other pokemon for their quirks and is constantly hovering around Rei like a mother hen. Though she joins Raitei in trying to break up quarels within the group, she often manages to make things worse by choosing sides. She and Hihime have clashing personalities and don't get along, though Hihime is often the one who gets the last laugh.

Whew, okay so thats all of their info....

Okay so Rei also has: Pokeballs, 1 Masterball, plenty of full heals, a pokedex (though he completed it a while ago), a pokeblock container as well as his badge case, a bike, as well as some various berries and his explorer kit.

Phew this took for-evah! But yeah comment etc. Criticism is welcome since this is my first tablet piece in quite a while. If I'm missing something for the contest do tell me! This took foreva and I'm proud of it, so I want to at least pass the qualifier!

Oh! One more note! His name is pronounced Ray-Fee-El, which is why his nickname is Rei, not Rai. I find this necessesary because in online games people keep asking me if I speak spanish....weirdos.
