Description EDIT 3.02.08:// [ FAQ ]
Q: Where do you buy paper star strips?

A: You can for sure buy paper strips at any Korean stationery store. You can probably even buy online? If you really can't find them, however, you can make your own; 15 x 1 cm paper strips.

Q: Help! I'm stuck! I don't get this?
A: Basically you're trying to use up the whole entire strip of paper until it runs out. What you're basically doing is this: take a flap, fold it over. Take the other flap, fold it over. Take the other flap, fold that... Tuck them under whenever you can as shown in step 4. Good luck!

OMG HUGE FILE D:

I sort of made a mistake by making this tutorial with those paper strips -.-;; I've always used 15 x 1 cm paper strips to make paper stars but these new ones are like... 19 x 1 cm D: If you use 15 x 1 cm paper strips, you do NOT need to cut! It should be perfect and you should be able to use it all :> I didn't know this but the new paper strips I've bought are strips used for both paper stars and paper hearts x_x;; oi.

Not the best tutorial out there...
probably one of the worst, rofl.

I never take requests--ever! But this is the one time I've fallen for it D: Ohnoes! Dx

GOOD LUCK!

Look forward to ANOTHER tutorial soon!! <3<3
For what? D: It's a secret! >:[

Finally! I can make these! ;__;
My friend gave me some strips a long time ago with instructions, but the pictures were really small and the instructions were in Chinese, so I had no idea how to do it.
Thank you! <3

Fishdot In reply to ??? [2008-05-19 22:21:02 +0000 UTC]

eh... You realize that they sell those things everywhere right? not just Korean Stationary stores...

You can fold them from ribbons too.. >>;;

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

Fishdot In reply to Fishdot [2008-05-19 23:01:25 +0000 UTC]

eh.. you can't FOR SURE buy them in any Korean stationary store, cause I'm sure I have been to Korean stationary stores that do not sell those.

I guess it just depends on where you live, and I guess not all Korean stationary stores are the same.

I guess whether you can fold them out of ribbon depends on your skills as well.

Plus, the way you pinch the stars with the metal things destroy the shape of the stars, you should do it the old fashioned way and use your fingers. The way you fold them isn't exactly efficient either.

RainCookie In reply to Fishdot [2008-05-19 22:25:30 +0000 UTC]

Not in all countries. I also put " You can for sure buy paper strips at any Korean stationery store"--not that that's the only place you can buy it. Not all craft stores sell them either--it just depends where you live.

You can try folding them from ribbons, but some ribbons won't hold the creases well as paper.

origami out of a strip of paper, I've never seen that before XD There's this kooky art store I like that sells these packets of origami paper that are only 1x1inch big, but pretty pretty. Once, I made an entire jar full of irises. my god, I swear my fingers were bleeding x.x good work!

RainCookie In reply to wulfiesacolyte [2008-05-13 01:10:09 +0000 UTC]

Aww :< If you fold these stars enough, your nail feels like it's going to rip out x_x;; (constant pressure, basically) XD; thats why i cheat and use long-nosed pliers

wulfiesacolyte In reply to RainCookie [2008-05-15 04:21:15 +0000 UTC]

cheater cheater <<
haha pliers makes me think of my days of attempting sculpey. I got all into it and bought all these different clays and the wires you use to make the armatures and stuff...then I found out how friggin hard it is to make figures and now it's all taking up room in my closet e.e maybe I should donate it to a school or something...hehe
