Description EDIT 3.02.08:// [ FAQ ]
Q: Where do you buy paper star strips?

A: You can for sure buy paper strips at any Korean stationery store. You can probably even buy online? If you really can't find them, however, you can make your own; 15 x 1 cm paper strips.

Q: Help! I'm stuck! I don't get this?
A: Basically you're trying to use up the whole entire strip of paper until it runs out. What you're basically doing is this: take a flap, fold it over. Take the other flap, fold it over. Take the other flap, fold that... Tuck them under whenever you can as shown in step 4. Good luck!

OMG HUGE FILE D:

I sort of made a mistake by making this tutorial with those paper strips -.-;; I've always used 15 x 1 cm paper strips to make paper stars but these new ones are like... 19 x 1 cm D: If you use 15 x 1 cm paper strips, you do NOT need to cut! It should be perfect and you should be able to use it all :> I didn't know this but the new paper strips I've bought are strips used for both paper stars and paper hearts x_x;; oi.

Not the best tutorial out there...
probably one of the worst, rofl.

I never take requests--ever! But this is the one time I've fallen for it D: Ohnoes! Dx

GOOD LUCK!

Look forward to ANOTHER tutorial soon!! <3<3
For what? D: It's a secret! >:[

Oh well. I plan to get a big jar next time I go to the mall and make lots. I'll try your tutorial and see if they come out better than the ones I have. <3

I'm sorry ;-;'' It's my first time doing a paper tutorial ;o;''

Ok let's see...k this might sound easier for you? D: :
Just keep on going using up the paper, taking turns. So if you used one flap to fold over, take the other flap now and fold. Just keep on folding the pentagon shape and you'll be fine ^^ Tuck it under other flaps when you get the chance too--it keeps the star more stronger and well supported :3 Good luck!

Wow, thanks so much. Ever since your first picture, I went online to figure out how to make these little buggers, and I've been doing them all weekend with my mom and my sister. They make really nice patterns for me and they let me do the folding of the stars. We're trying to fill this jar with them and we're halfway there. We haven't ahd this much quality time since forever. Thanks for giving us a chance to be together again.

Now I gotta go back to help them right now

Seems like a interesting thing to do, when I head over to the crop shop (scrap book store) I see if I can find some cute paper like that and make a star... btw, have you made stars bigger than the ones you use?

I have a big tin of different colors of star strips... but ever since I brought them to Hawaii with me they got really thin and strange-feeling and won't fold as well. I thought it was the moisture so I let them sit out for awhile but they still felt strange!~
It's been about a year since then...
I might try folding them again today. Thanks for the tutorial!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RainCookie In reply to poppikun [2008-03-02 23:37:54 +0000 UTC]

I think I know what you mean D: Are they like somewhat shinny?

I remember folding with some paper star strips but they felt like... like...embossed, shiny, thin wall paper? D: LoL It wouldn't make creases D: x_x;;

Hope your paper stars work out! :3
