I made nine of these little cinnamen.
It was really fun, but REALLY sticky! I used almost a whole bottle of cinnamon to get it right, but they turned out so awesome.
Thanks for the tutorial, all my little cinnamen are now gifts for my friends.

RainCookie In reply to Undead-Psycho [2009-12-17 11:40:07 +0000 UTC]
Stickiness probably means your dough was too moist! But no worries as long as they turned out pretty awesome! ^^
Thanks for using my tutorial~

How long does it usually take for them to dry?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
RainCookie In reply to Undead-Psycho [2009-12-17 22:14:12 +0000 UTC]
It really depends on the thickness. If you make it relatively thin, it'll pretty much dry overnight. But if you lay it down somewhere to dry, it'll take a bit longer since you're only exposing one side to the air.
If you make it relatively thick, it might take twice as long. Longer if you only expose one side at a time. So in the end, it just comes down to 1) how moist your dough was when you made it, 2) how thick you cut your ornaments, and 3) how much area you're exposing to the air

Undead-Psycho In reply to RainCookie [2009-12-17 22:56:12 +0000 UTC]
Alright, thanks. Right now they're all dry on the outside, but the 'dough' was still a bit squishy as I was painting them. But they smell so good!
Thanks again for the really cool tutorial.

aww it's so nice to see something from you again~
i shall try to make this some time! D:
btw for the templates for cutting out you can just use normal paper yeah? that won't break or become soggy or anything D
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
RainCookie In reply to vittzie [2009-12-16 10:16:31 +0000 UTC]
I really suggest using stock paper or some sort of thick paper because it does get a little damp from your dough.
You can use regular paper, but be careful when you peel it off. It won't be soggy, but it'll be damp
Good luck! ^^

I remember making these! Ironically, I was decorating my tree last weekend and picked up a little cinnamon ornament and was wondering which one of us made her, how (by now I've forgotten OTL)and when. I thought it might be fun to make a new one and now I guess I can! 8D

This is so useful!
I usually bake cookies out of very simple dough (that doesn't taste like a cookie at all, haha) if I'm making decorations, but I'll just HAVE to try this out!
Thank you ^^

It's been a while Cori! ^^ Great to see you again!
I made one of these when I was little... they look and smell better than they taste
The one I made is still used by my mom as an ornament on our tree, though. ^^ I should try making these again! I never really did since I made my first ones because I never knew the recipe.
Thanks for uploading this guide! It's amazingly cute and wonderful.
