FULL VIEW FOR TUTORIAL
Finally, after countless requests, I made a full tutorial just on how I do eyes. It really is simple, after a few tries I think you should be able to do it (as long as you know how to insert layers, etc. in photoshop). If you have problems or questions with it, feel free to ask me

Hehe... Awesome tutorial. However, If there is one thing Stupid has learned today its taht it doesnt quite work the same way on GIMP... my eye came out an abomination! >w< Oh well, must come up with a metric f-ton of cash for Photoshop... gah...

Ummm.... I'm really new to all this fancy layery stuff.... I usually just draw my art straight onto a computer..... but I really need help with my eye technique..... so... umm..... how do you create a layer UNDER another? I've looked but I can't see any obvious way...

Hm... Do you have a window, where you can see all your layers?
If ya have one, drag the new layer under the old.
(It's that simple, but on the other hand, I don't know what photoshop you have.)

Version 2... and today my friend told me the same thing, but she has a Mac, and my first layer is always locked... and stuff.... don't worry, one of my friends is coming around soon so she'll help me understand.

the backround layer is always locked, so then you have to work on a layer in top of that layer, but still have the lineart over it.
