Basically I decided to make a tutorial for who got me photoshop CS2! Thank you SO MUCH. But you don't need that program to use this tutorial. Really, it can be used in any program from photoshop 5-CS2. You can easily adapt it to other programs too if you need it. Anyway, I hope you find this useful. I didn't want to give away the final picture completely, which will be posted soon

Did you take out the white yet? Just use the magic wand and to take out the white background (hold control and shift at the same time and you can select multiple areas). You'll then be left with just the lineart. THEN lock transparent pixels and color it black.

Maaaah I am poor and therefore I only have a mouse to work with. -_- I've found that some techniwues people do using a tablet also work with using a mouse. Only it's WAY more time-consuming and somewhat harder. But the calligraphy bursh halpes ratify that somewhat.
Also, I am VERY poor, as I only have Photoshop Elements 2.0. I know, I'm so bad.

thanks for the tutorial but its really not as easy as you say it is. You go through the tutorial mighty fast as if we have done this before and there are no tips as to what size the brushes should be and such so it's really quite hard to get anything remotely similar to what your final piece looks like
Maybe you should spend more time adding very detailed information.
It was fun to try though but I was pissed at the end result since the tutorial is not as detailed as it should be.
