Basically I decided to make a tutorial for who got me photoshop CS2! Thank you SO MUCH. But you don't need that program to use this tutorial. Really, it can be used in any program from photoshop 5-CS2. You can easily adapt it to other programs too if you need it. Anyway, I hope you find this useful. I didn't want to give away the final picture completely, which will be posted soon

I donβt even have Photoshop and this helped me a BUNCH. I have Corel 12 and some of the things are named differently but I was able to figure it out. So far I have used this tutorial twice -> [link] [link] They arenβt nearly as good as yours

How do you put the sketch on a different layer? Cuz mine has a white background to it, for it is scanned.

your tutorial fucking sucks. YOU may be really awesome at photoshop, but that doesn't mean everyone else is. you assume too much when you try and explain things. you need...HAVE...to put more details into what youre saying and explaining, like the steps to do things and shit. but it evidently doesnt matter so theres really no point in writing this comment cause you never get back to them ANYWAY

I haven't tried to use what I learned here yet, but I will on the current picture I am painting. This tutorial really has helped me learn how to paint better in photoshop.

Sweet, I'm using PS7 and this tutorial works perfectly. I've only done one picture and it's only a test so don't look in my gallery for examples of your tutelage just yet.

I dont get the bit at the start with the transparent pixels.Colour WHAT black? Please can sum1 tell me!!

Dunno if someone told it to you, but I will try to explain it. You can lock the line art, so that nothing can happen to it, but you also can lock the pixels without something. Therefore is the button you see in the tutorial (it stands by the layers) when you click on it, you can lock the pixels without a drawing and you can easy make the lines another colour.

My computer is odd.
You see, I can't even make a nice sketch.
I can't even lineart with the Anchor tool!
My personal CS2 is terrible. There's some stuff that aren't on it, but those things happen to be on my dad's computer.
Ugghhhhh....
So I can't do a thing.
I can't shade nicely, my art is all wobbly....
It's utterly terrible.

All your pics are so great so was happy when i found that you made an tutorial, but i just dont get it
ive put my (yours) sketch on a seperate layer and locked transparent pixels, but what do you mean by "color it black" when i try to color it black it just paints normally
