Description
Full View for tutorialBasically I decided to make a tutorial for who got me photoshop CS2! Thank you SO MUCH. But you don't need that program to use this tutorial. Really, it can be used in any program from photoshop 5-CS2. You can easily adapt it to other programs too if you need it. Anyway, I hope you find this useful. I didn't want to give away the final picture completely, which will be posted soon
Enjoy
EDIT: I forgot to give it to you

Just a question... what did you do to the lines of the sketch? Did you just delete them... or turned on a different opacity, what..?

Hi, I just used your scetch for this tutorial, and I was wondering if I can post it on this site. I used some diffrent colors than yours, and I will give you alot of credit.
I can show it to you first if you want. I think this was the most useful tutorial EVER!

Now that I've added what I think is every one of your tutorials to my favorites list, I must humbly bow and thank you. The lingo is not too technical for me to understand and it seems like you work the blessed assumption that not everyone can afford a tablet. Not to mention, but you're actually skilled and the way in which you go about things is not overly complicated. Not too many layers, not too many special techniques. Thank you so much for providing these to the community. I'm sure we all appreciate them greatly.

this is an awesome tutorial....it was really helpful to see how to get more realistic shading and highlights.
i have a question. when i tried to change the lineart from red to black, it just wasn't working. did i do something wrong, or do you think photoshop elements just cant do it the way photoshop cs can?

OKOKOKOK got it: tutorial on separating the lines from the white background and coloring them black:
1) (Ill be using her drawing, so make sure the background of the image is completely HTML hex code color #FFFFFF (white)) and click the magic wand tool.
2) On the ORIGINAL LAYER OF THE DRAWING right click and select Color Range. When the window pops up click a white space on the picture itself.
3) Set the fuzziness to 127 and then apply. All of the white part should then be selected.
4) Simply press delete.
5) THEN you click the Lock Pixels button and use a large paint prush with the black color and skim over the enter image ^^ you now have a black drawing! ^^ Hope this helps!

( I don't get how to get the lines black!!! >.< I locked the pixels but I dunno what you mean by coloring it black! Do I use paint bucket? do I use the brush tool? do I use the pencil tool and mark in EVERY SINGLE PIXEL of the red? x( wat to do? (I'll most likely kick myself when I find out...)

i found this thing and I studied it until I understood every part but when I went to actually used I fuck up on step one, I lock the transparent pixels and go to paint the sketch black and it paints the whole fricking thing black, I used the magic wand thing and deleted the background and then it colored over the who figure I am trying to color, You didn't go through everysingle space in that picture and through the hair and selected each one did you? or is there a simpler way to do that? I even tried it on your sketch and it did the same thing........HELP!!!

I fav this! I've already learned stuff by reading it!
How do you get sketches onto photoshop like that without having a multi-colored background? (like grey and stuff)
Or did you do it on the comp? D:
