As a designer, I have a couple of pet peeves with the F-35. I think that the "bar" that runs along the inside of the canopy doesn't help the lines of this plane at all. I know, I know, the brilliant team of engineers building and designing air dominance fighters isn't (and shouldn't be) worried about aesthetics. But I am. So this is my own version of the F-35, that deletes that canopy bar feature, and changes the color of the nose cone to make this version of the F-35 look just a little bit more like it's big brother, the F-22. I guess I'm hoping that some future version of the F-35 might actually look like this.Related content

I totally agree with you, I love the F35, it's a really pretty fighter jet; but I think too that a one piece canopy would make the plane more appealing. It also bothers me the weird grey paint scheme, and I prefer your version, with the nose of the same colour of the rest of "head" of the aircraft. Really nice work!

Hey, thanks so much for your interest, and for your great comments! I guess aesthetics aren't a big consideration when designing a multi-zillion dollar air-superiority fighter plane, but it's fine for us to consider such things here.
