Assuming that Major Elrik Vonreg was intended to be the Star Wars equivalent of the legendary "Red Baron," one might assume that his TIE Fighter's distinctive red color-scheme was a rare, or even unique, "signature" paint scheme, suggesting that he wanted to be recognized in battle, as a way to intimidate enemy pilots. If that is the case (and that seems pretty likely) it is only logical that the First Order would have lots of additional TIE Interceptors equipped with a color scheme that was consistent with the rest of it's TIE fighters (black body with white panels.)

Vonreg's TIE Interceptor seems to be pretty popular among Star Wars enthusiasts. I have gotten a number of requests to depict how this Interceptor would look in a more "traditional" black-and-white First Order TIE paint scheme. I've been curious about what that would look like too, so here it is. I hope you like it!

It's pretty cool! I'm not really holding my breath, but it would be neat to see a few of these black TIE Interceptors appear in the upcoming (and final) season of Star Wars Resistance or even in Episode 9. I know that Fantasy Flight is planning to come out with a miniature of Vonreg's red TIE interceptor. Since that product is already being developed, it would be awesome to see FF make several different versions of that fighter in different color schemes. Even if they don't pursue this option, I have to imagine that fans (like us) will repaint Vonreg's Fighter into a variety of new color schemes, possibly including this one. Until then, at least you can get a look at it here!
