Description
I always saw SatAM Sally as a Sarah Connor/Ellen Ripley type female lead. Considering that she's supposed to be 16 in the series, she's pretty damn stoic. Actually, most characters felt just a little older than they were. Ant was a coward, but really..he just felt like the youngest of the group. All of them were foisted into war at an incredibly young age, their families torn apart, their lives displaced. Etc.. etc.. etc..Perhaps I see a lot more in it than there was, but I don't know. It must have been some fertile territory for me to still be thinking about it.

I especially love the sketch that has Sally comforting Tails. It gives off the vibe that Tails is a young child who has lost everything he loved, and the horrified expression Sally has reads, "How could someone do something this cruel to a child?"

Nah, I don't think you're reading too much into it. I think the fact that the characters were that fleshed out is why its fanbase has endured so long.

Ha! I'm.. so tempted by that. XD But unfortunately would not have the funds to pay her wages. LoL
Seriously though, if I am ever in any such position as to make a revival occur, trust me, I would do it.

I have trouble looking back on SatAM; the "vocal" fan-base tarnished my experience with it (that, and I actually prefer the "hated" Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon).

That's unfortunate. I've not had much communication with the SatAM fanbase, so I'm not sure what really goes on in there. It remains something pretty personal to me at that point in my life, which I'm sure is where a lot of my affection for it comes from.
Can't say I'm with you on AoSTH. XD To each their own though. I did go through a period where I just could'nt get enough Sonic and HAD to watch it.. but over all I just preferred the darker take. That being said, a nice synergy of humor and 'darkness' would have been great. SatAMs attempts at humor always fell flat with me.

I'm thinking one day I'll re-watch SatAM, and try not to think about the fan-base that keeps me from enjoy it. For what it's worth, when I first watched SatAM, I rather enjoyed the experience, and I have respect for the late Ben Hurst, and what he accomplished.
To each their own, indeed. *laugh*
